  1. During daytime, with the ADSL modem/router on, do you have Renderama problem?
  2. You summed it all Alex! EI V9 has new import capabilities and OBJ comes in beautifully. David is not on the other side of the planet, we are... Cheers!
  3. That's why... :( From now on, we'll squash them, annihilate them, crush them, flatten them, smash them, pound them, scrunch them, eliminate them, squeeze them, squish them, eradicate them, stamp on them, suppress them, trample them and kill them but we'll not fix them anymore!
  4. You're the best! Thanks!
  5. Go to the Download Area, enter your informations and pick up the RealFlow import/export plugin. Give your Dongle number to Blair to get your code. http://www.northernlights3d.com/Downloads/download_entry.html
  6. As Tomas posted in the General Forum, the Beta Team just received the new optimized build (after our complex changes). Time to bug fixes! This is the last step before the release. Hang in there!
  7. Michel, Put the "Frameworks" folder back into the "Library" folder. Put the "Library" folder at the root of your hard drive. It's not supposed to be inside the "Applications" folder.
  8. Hey Francesco, I confirm, the Development Team is ready and anxiously waiting the Beta built. We'll inform you in this thread as soon as we receive it. Anytime now... We are all eager to fix the final bugs and get this update out to the crowd...! Thanks for your patience
  9. Nice jobs!
  10. I simply use a large pane of glass deformed with an animated bump map. Vary its position to control where you want the effect to start. I used this heatwave trick to show heat from motors, boiling pot etc. and it is quite effective on the palm beach scene. Varying the bump/displacement size and the refraction index of the glass gives you quite a nice control over the effect. Movie: http://rdnmultimedia.com//eias/heatHaze.mov Animated map: http://rdnmultimedia.com//eias/heatHazeUp.mov Render times are reasonable.
  11. Wish you luck on your fundraising effort! Hope you make it, it's a wonderful project.
  12. Thanks! Dropbox is becoming increasingly indispensable in my day to day workflow...
  13. Hey Alonzo! You're improving your technique every time you make a new DVD! Hours and hours of frustrating tests we don't have to make delivered on a plate at a no nonsense price! An offer no one who ever tried rigging should pass... Thanks!
  14. Very nice! Excellent timing of components getting in place. Never had to animate one with so many little parts... Well done.
  15. A Bourbon often leads to a good solution...
  16. Loon, this is awesome and usable in any EIAS Project without plugin or outside application. Thanks. Felix, I do feel your frustration, really. A tool you suggested, TAFA, by Timothy Albee does export to MDD and EIAS now imports it flawlessly. Maybe one day EIAS will incorporate similar tools but unfortunately, this is still for a future update.
  17. The winning entry was by Tim Shedelbower. http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=337843
  18. I love free stuff! Beautiful bark! More cutout people! Thanks for sharing.
  19. Again, beautiful concept beautifully rendered. Very inviting, If it was closer to my place I'd go take a look... The Ken Burns effect is correct in the intro. For a wide shot like that, I'm not sure you would gain a lot making it 3D.
  20. Very nice! If all your shots are this good it will be a killer demo reel!
  21. A must see! Very inspiring!
  22. This is really nice Michael! Beautiful architecture design well rendered. It will be a real seller for your customers. Here is my suggestion: The first two sequences travel a little too much into the apartment. I see these type of interior movements as someone walking one or two meters with a head turn.
  23. In the mean time, there's always the AfterEffects version...
  24. Congrats Alex! This represents a lot of work and you made it look beautiful!
  25. Thanks for the Meet Meline Clip! I followed this work in 2008 and 2009 but gradually forgot to keep up to date... They made an excellent little movie with wonderful lighting. The Chase is a good comedy brilliantly executed. My favorite is RUIN for the overall execution but particularly the camera work. I find it outstanding. Great finds. Thanks for posting!
