  1. If you're on mac, User/Library/Preferences/com.electricimage.animator.plist
  2. Michael, Photons are your weapon of choice, you killed it again! Very well done. As you are proficient with lighting techniques I wonder if you could crank up the lighting a lot without killing the details? I tried to show it in PShop but I mean even brighter, with blooming, but again keeping the details... Sounds like a challenge... I'm still learning photons and I cannot accomplish this very bright lighting used in many architectural renders. No PShop, no gamma trick, just lighting. Again congrats:D
  3. I don't understand why you can't animate. I tried the plugin and it seems to work OK even without export-import. Check out my project to see my settings. If it doesn't work, please send a copy of your project so I can have a look at it. CreateUV.mov CreateUV.zip
  4. Create UV will probably resolve your problem, that's what I used for a Puzzle project I made couple years ago. http://www.eias3d.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=521&highlight=createUV There was also the trick of copying the map from the MATERIAL BALL of the group with the full image and pasting individually in the MATERIAL BALL of each puzzle piece. With more than 20 pieces, it soon becomes a drag...
  5. Yes to your questions. It has all the flexibility you want. You will love it! :D
  6. I had a peek at it Frank and it certainly something I will try. Could obj2fact import multiple obj files at once? This tedious process is the only negative part of it. Thanks for sharing!
  7. Work hard, render fast, retire young. Take 2 weeks vacation and repeat the process... We're having too much fun!
  8. No go. File could be corrupted. Can they send a fresh one? Maybe someone using a PC could try but I doubt it would make a difference. As for the missing files I saw, simply drop the project file on a text editor and you'll get bunch of info and a lot of gibberish...
  9. Eric, I cannot open the project either but I see I'm missing some files. Sofa_sectional_001.fac and some wood texture like wood7.png Could you post a collect of the project? Was it originally done in V8 PC?
  10. Michael, that is excellent architectural rendering! Many artists forget that the center stage of these pieces is the actual architecture... You show it with beautiful lighting that let us appreciate the many details and texture of the house. Congrats!
  11. Thanks guys, these are happy times! @Felix, must be MODOminique...
  12. This is my daughter's first attempt at 3D modeling... Perfect loops, all normals pointing outwards, excellent skin texture with sub surface scattering around the ears and nostrils. Outstanding job! I'm a VERY happy grandfather and proud to present you Michaël, son of Dominique and Philippe.
  13. Don't set inherit scale individually, set one then clic on "inherit scale" with the right mouse button and select "set all" or whatever other option you see fit.
  14. I'm sure that's the best 10$ anyone can spend. Cristobal's tutorials are, by far, the greatest I've seen. I wish him the best of luck with his new venture!
  15. Dave, This is kind of Off Topic for it will probably not help you but I was reading about Woddy3D when I saw your post... http://woody3d.com/home/ The technique used by Brian Taylor for his Rustboy movie could be an inspiration. http://www.rustboy.com/movies/tree.mov You will find some explanation of his technique here: http://www.rustboy.com/rustweb.htm Check the fifth plate of the Making of Tab.
  16. Very nice Alex! Beautiful lighting and camera movement. When you travel beside the car in the garage we don't see the camera crew. They're all vampires...? Excellent, congrats! Funny that "visuelle" has the exact same meaning and spelling in french...
  17. I like it a lot so I pressed the button. Nothing happened... Congrats Michael. Beautiful work and inviting website!
  18. Could you send a collect of the project so we can investigate?
  19. WOW! This is excellent Apu! On top of that you choose a character that I adore! Too bad we lost this actor. Excellent integration, at first I wondered why I didn't remember that box...
  20. Nice exercice in minimalism. Love the changing geometry where the shadows and the forms merges. One could hear the absent music... Thanks for sharing.
  21. Nice renders Richard. It takes a little time to get to know these new tools but it's always rewarding when a client is satisfied.
  22. If you talk about flat 2D pictures with minimum or no perspective, stickyyard is an interesting product: http://www.stickyyard.com/ OpenSource suggestion: http://stereo.sourceforge.net/ May I also suggest the use of photoshop tools like vanishing point that gives you a great reference grid in perspective on top of your picture. When perspective has to be considered, the technique is called Photogrammetry. Metrology and Photogrammetry are the best keywords to get info on the subject. 23. Suddenly, I'm so proud to be Canadian...! Way to go Alisdair! This is a fantastic body of work. Inspiring and imaginative. There are some very precious bits all over the reel, can't stop looking at it! Congrats!
  24. Congrats Michael! As this type of illumination it is not requested in my job, photons are still eluding me... I'll get at it this summer and hope my results are as beautiful as yours!
  25. Yes, totally addictive is the right description!:D
