  1. Check it out! David Wu has taken the time to answer a few questions that a couple of us came up with for him. Thanks David for the tips. http://www.eias3d.com/category/featured-artists/
  2. Sweeeeet. I like it. Wright would enjoy seeing it. Wright had a way of integrating the house with nature (which you captured well) and hiding the front door somewhat. I took a trip to Chicago about 6 years ago to tour some of his work. I noticed that his bricks and concretes and mortars all had little details to them. The bricks had a little sheen to them like a glazing. The mortar was colored and very thin. A little pick, it might look better if the concrete around the front plants and sidewalk were closer to the building color. Just by looking at the photo I see the outside concrete is the same tint as the house, like the concrete is an extension of the house. That tweak could be made without a rerender by doing an object ID rendering and selecting the concrete in photoshop.
  3. Not that I know of. That would be sweet. There is an import pluggin for Photoshop btw if you weren't aware http://www.telegraphics.com.au/sw/product/EIFormat
  4. and have an irradiance cached and encaging year! And global peace through out, along with illumination!
  5. Did some tests today and it is Simcloth was working ok using Mavericks. Are you sure the Preview mode says Simulation?
  6. Thanks Richard! Change it up, like to see what you come up with. Give it that Montreal swagger.
  7. This is the goods in file!
  8. This picker is great and works on all Mac programs that allow it. I like the triangle in a circle system. EI could use it if it just opened up to the Apple picker!!!! http://www.coolorus.com

  9. OK, I started this card in EI on Sunday and thought - what could other 3ders do with this file. It looks good as is and renders in about 15 minutes on my 8 core imac. I was focused on the shadows. Have some fun with it! https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5048027/star.zip
  10. Hey Chip, You might want to consider doing a full blown tutorial with the EI files. And then sell it thru the EI web site. I know I would pay for it. Maybe a video but not absolutely necessary.
  11. Hey Chip, Anyway you could post a sample file? You stated it was on the forum somewhere but I looked around and did not find it.
  12. Hey Michael, You can set the # of threads and memory that camera uses. Open camera and under the file menu is settings. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5048027/camera.png I have my imac set to 7 and it still uses all of the horsepower so not sure how well it works.
  13. Yup they are back! They never did work on iOS
  14. Is it just me? Not able to see any of the videos on the website. Used OSX and Windows 7 and several browsers and unable to play a gallery or tutorial video.
  15. Nice Tutorial. Thanks Chip.
  16. Nice Trick Tomas. I see how the cube is part of the bone nearest to it. How is the cube attached to the joint end?
  17. Hey Mike, I worked a bit on one of those projects. They are using Xfrog trees and plants. One reason is because of this tool http://xfrog.com/product/XA-09.html which allows you to reduce the polygons.
  18. Hey Mike, I know proxy is used a good bit for this. Some work by GT images http://www.eias3d.com/forums/topic/5920-architectural-interior-and-exterior-with-v91/.
  19. I have done that sort of thing with just visibility. I have 2 copies of the same object. When it is on the ground the first one is visible. When it is picked up the second one is visible. That way the 2nd one can be parented to the crane.
  20. Hey Buggsy, Want to see some cutting edge, pushing the envelope stuff from you with this new Version of Electric Image!!! I know you can do it.
  21. It was blacking out on me with a ubershape. When I use it on an imported fact it works.
  22. Here is the file https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5048027/fact.zip
  23. Thanks guys. Just not flexible enough for my needs. I played around with turning off the live button. I am going to join objects together more in FormZ so they act as one object.
  24. "You can however apply a Master Material to those similar objects and tweak, on an object basis, the dimensions specifics aspects as long as you don't apply those change back to the Master Material." Have not found a way to adjust on an object basis. When I select an object (that uses MM) and then select its diffuse texture map and adjust it, it alters the master. How are you adjusting the maps?
  25. Was wondering if anyone is using master materials with diffuse maps? I usually don't use them but it sure would save some time as I use the same diffuse maps over and over in a file. The manual says you would need to tweak each object that uses a master material w texture maps. Don't see a way because you always work on the master material.
