I am animating some gunk (really it is gunk) that is scraped off of some skin. I am using power particles pro parented to MrBlobby. It looks fairly good, however I have to render out each frame one at a time to get what I want. When I just render out the animation all at once it looks totally different (as if wind is affecting it). Want to render it all together. Any ideas? Steven Houtzager

What comes in from Lightwave?
S. Houtzager replied to joseph56's topic in Features propositions / Ideas
The LW import into EI rocks. It even imports transparency settings along with object names, diffuse color. -
Redid these Tractor renderings and trying to get something new from an old subject. I do scenes with cars and tractors in them so I want to fine tune them. Wanted to see every bit of the tread. Still don't like the blue paint. It needs to be more whitish on top. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5048027/front_sign.png https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5048027/Back_sign.png

CONGRATULATIONS EI.... Tomas and all involved on V9.1
S. Houtzager replied to supernovavfx's topic in EIAS General Forum
Very Impressive!! The openGL is much snappier. I tested out maps importing from FormZ to EI and it worked fairly well. All of the maps were there (about 50) but some flat maps would need adjustment. Might try to attach to UV's. :shy: -
simple question im shocked I dont know how to do....

Is the object set to Implicit or Explicit? Handles need explicit. I suspect that you have a preference set where the objects are starting explicit. The first preference tab has the implicit and explicit settings. -
Changing the materials of a UV'd object

I use FormZ mostly. Got Silo too. I can do that with Z. Great. -
Haven't seen too many newbies on this forum, could use some fresh blood around here. Maybe EI could sell an Educational Version! Maybe you could get Scott Simmons, the guy who did all of the EIv7 videos for VTC.com, to do a new set for V9. His set of videos were the best. He was at livewire productions.

Changing the materials of a UV'd object
S. Houtzager replied to S. Houtzager's topic in EIAS General Forum
Hey Diego, The vertices are painted somehow as there is not a map associated with it. Hoping to adjust the 2 materials in EI. -
Hey I have purchased a model and some of the objects are colored using UVs. Here is a snap. http://www.intuitionusa.com/1/light.png It would save time if I could have it in EI and "adjust" the black and the red. Any ideas?

Hey Diego, Which Paralluminos tool would work for this? Just curious.

quick help with cores vs cameras please

The camera settings buttons. I did a screen grab. http://www.intuitionusa.com/1/settings.png Yes I have tested 4 vs 7 cameras and 7 wins! -

Camera can run 8. There is an optimal button in the settings of Camera. I like to go with 7 on my iMac. -
Hey Christian, I was thinking of trying to do this not long ago in EI. I was going to give Pathfinder from Northernlights3d a try. I reverse movies in AE, or EI can render out in reverse. Would like to see what you get.
-
Right, I am going to try it again with a smaller car. It is acting like it is on the moon right now.

Hey Alex, I was able to get the van to turn a bit, thanks. I need to get the overall speed right first. SH

Getting back to this one. I can get the vehicle to move forward a little and the suspension works. Not bad for a minivan. However I animated the pluggin and altered the path so it gradually curved. Well the Vehicle pluggin, I thought, was supposed to react to it. It does not. Any ideas?? SH
-
Hey, The Tailor Tool pluggin will clip many pieces of geometry with control of the cutting edge. Not sure what you mean by a "determined distance". The Cutter object can be moved around easily. http://www.eias3d.com/products/konkeptoine-plugins/tailortool/
-
Ah thanks, I misread that part of the manual. You know the vehicle pluggin and bullet make their own proxies on the fly. In the last tab of the vehicle pluggin you can view them.
-
I like it!
-
Just kicking around the new Vehicle bullet pluggin. I got to the point where the pluggin solved the set up (can see the outlines of the wheels and chassis) but It doesn't move. I animated the pluggin along the x axis. Can someone take a peek. Free car model in it. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5048027/vehicle.zip preciate

Alternative to AE for EIAS compositing in OS X
S. Houtzager replied to Aziz's topic in EIAS General Forum
I see it will work for many people, but for me it will be much more expensive. I just use 3 of Adobe's programs and I don't upgrade them on an exact time table. I skip updates and update them when I need them or have to because of an OS upgrade. Just watched a video about Autodesk doing the same thing. The things you can do when you have a near monopoly. -
I just downloaded several and they are good models that import well. Why the transparency to ray trace when there is nothing transparent? Btw, some trees have 9 obj's of different sizes. 1 is a low polygon version of the tree and 9 is very high polygon.

Alternative to AE for EIAS compositing in OS X
S. Houtzager replied to Aziz's topic in EIAS General Forum
Remember when, about 10 years ago, Adobe just starting buying out the competition instead of competing with them. Macromedia comes to mind. This should have never been allowed to happen imho. But there was a "deregulation" movement going on and it was allowed. It did not even raise a few eyebrows. Monopolies can just do whatever they want. -
I turned on the legacy codecs thru terminal and no compression is not there. :/ thanks though
