Hey is there a way to get the rotation sphere that you can use in the camera view in the texture map window. In the texture map window I can switch on the rotation tool but it is not visible, the edges of the map are still visible. The goal is to rotate texture maps with the visual rotation sphere.

It was because of a camera setting. I had FOV at 1 degree because I like to use an Axonometric view. I changed it to 5 degrees and it works fine. thanks!

When I am in Hardware OpenGL preview mode and I spin a model, the view is very "shaky". Never seen this before in all my years of EI. I restarted my mac and zapped the pram. Same issue. I can switch to Software preview and it goes away but want to be in hardware mode. I am on a 2009 iMac i7 chip with a ATI Radeon HD 4850.

Hey Verb, Check out this image to see where to set the Render Range of Frames. Once you set them, a small green and small red triangle will appear on your timeline to indicate where the "range" starts and stops. Notice the reverse button which allows you to render those frames backwards if you want! http://www.intuitionusa.com/1/render.jpg

One question Thomo, how are you adjusting the final image? Are you going into Photoshop and adjusting levels? The only issue I have is that it is just a hit and miss system. You have to guess at how the image will look "after" the final adjustment. Thanks.

I would research and see if bullet can combine gravity, deforming over a stationary object, and wind. I know the first 2 work together and I am fairly sure that wind can be combined but not sure.

A few suggestions: • A better color picker, the Apple default one would be great because of its magnify glass color picker: picks anywhere on the screen. • Scroll wheel on the mouse supported on the project window. Got thousands of parts and would love to be able to scroll thru them with the mouse wheel. • Bigger buttons at the top of the Project Window. Getting harder and harder to see those buttons up there, or is it my eyesight. • When doing test renders, those tests appear in one window that you can flip thru. • If the render that Camera shows in the lower right corner were bigger, that would be awesome. Not a big deal.

5.8 million polygons. 42 tractor proxies. It took 3 minutes to render 1080 x 1920. I am doing one with sky light in GI and it looks more real but it takes 4.5 minutes to render each frame which is too long.

Yea using the sky light in GI looks better but I was looking for a time cheater.

Did this one to see how V9 would handle all of the proxies and polygons. 3 mins a frame at HD so not bad! Rendered out single frames which is going to be my default way now. I played around with the shadow dropoff to break up the shadow but not sure if I like it. http://intuitionusa.com/Popups_Animation/challenger.html Happy New Year!

I have tried that. I lose the layers. I could group items but I have so many that it takes a bunch of time. -

Just a note that I had to make some custom bushes and trees and found this great free program called Arbaro. Mac or PC and it makes a wide variety of stuff with a lots of control. http://arbaro.sourceforge.net/ There is a youtube video on it too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XPogyaQ-gM

Just tested it out and I had to adjust the transparency to get that blue box. The shader works the same in V8 and V9.

Hey Gigayoda, I haven't been having any issues with geometry coming into EI. I even got a FZ7 smooth model into EI without an issue just from the standard fact export. Just the maps. Will test that out. -

Hey Tomas, I took the fact that FZ exported and reimported that into FZ to test. It worked fine so it could be an EI issue. Thanks. -

This was FZ's reply as I posted in FZ at the same time. Steven, We have not changed the behavior of this export in years, and it has always worked, so I suspect that this is an Electric Image v9 issue. Import the FACT file back into formZ. If the texture shows there -- then report this to EIAS... Well I imported the fact back into FZ 7 and the maps were there although flipped.
