  1. I have a deformed terrain model. Above it I copy tons of trees, plants and rocks objects. Then I use bullet physic to place those elements (randomly) on the surface of the terrain. It's working, but I would like the falling objects to stop moving on impact and block their rotation (prevent them from rolling). I tried to activate all the limits, all link types and bullet properties without success : everything continue moving and rotating (on the steep hills). In Vue d'Esprit there is a drop function that does exactly that. You place above then hit the drop button. I hope to use this technique eventually with "Force" to place/scatter objects on objects.
  2. I have to animate neurones shrinking and dying (Alzheimers). The problem here is the branching structure. It's like growing a tree in reverse, although, no leaves. I have animated a simple plant growing with Vue d'Esprit before, I would have to figure out a way to export numbered geometry or the animation data, not quite sure. EI being my natural go-to tool for 3D, I am wondering if there is a way to do this with animator, or a combination of tools. I have C4d, Maya, Blender, Vue, Onyx Broadleaf and a few more. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks, Christian
  3. Hello, I am using v8 and I am unable to import any models with textures regardless of what I try. I downloaded a free model from XFrog.com with textures already applied. (Bristlecone Pine http://xfrog.com/product/X-16.html) The .obj file comes in as one object with no textures. The textures are definitely there as I can see them when importing into other programs such as FormZ or Balancer. In FormZ I can break the model apart and reimport it back into EI but the normals are wrong so you can't accurately apply new textures to the leaf planes. Even a simple sphere with a texture gets stripped when importing into EI. Is there a tried and true method for bringing in models with textures? Thanks. -Derryl
