  1. Thanks guys, some pretty good suggestions here, although a lot are quite pricey. I am surprised there are not more shareware / cheap applications for this kind of thing - more the measurement (akin to the measuring tools in ImageModeler) than rebuilding and texturing or point cloud generation. In the end vanishing point and the measuring tool (in CS5 extended) and a bit of good old fashioned trigonometry got me close enough, so thanks for the vanishing point reminder Richard, James
  2. Hi All, Does anyone know of any open source software similar to Image Modeler or Photo Modeler - I don't need to use application to build models, just to extract some dimensions from photographs. Even any techniques to do this without software would be useful - as I do know at least one dimension so could extrapolate from that perhaps... thanks, James
  3. Hi Tomas, Will this memory limit be increased in EIAS 9.0 with it's 64bit architecture? Would that mean we could render even larger scenes, or what other implications would there be? Thanks, James
  4. There is also PFhoe (£49) and PFhoe Pro (£99) which I believe were what Icarus became (as well as PFtrack), PFhoe pro exports to fbx and is very good for the price... http://www.pfhoe.com/products.php The cheaper version exports to AE and I think you can then get the camera data from there to EI.... Regards, James
  5. Hi Tomas, Thanks, I've fixed this for now by rethinking and cleaning up the models a bit, will let you know if I have any more problems, James
  6. Hi All, Does anyone have any tips to get rid of or lessen the photon problem with light leak and intersecting surfaces? thanks, James
  7. Hi All, Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm also now desperate to get UB versions of these shaders, as well as fibreforge and craftpack - although not sure these ones have been ported. Can't get hold of David on any of the emails I have for him, any help would be really appreciated, Thanks, James
  8. Thanks Dave, It's an arduous route at times - but worth it in the end! (Very pleased with v8s new lighting/rendering features....) James
  9. Hi All, Does anyone have a foolproof (ish) way of getting models and uvs intact from c4d 11.5 to ei, tried a few methods and none seem perfect, either shading / normal problems or no uvs. FBX, Obj and 3ds all seem to work in one way or another (3ds imports uvs - but with shading problems / obj has no uvs but correct shading / fbx shading probs on some models), but nothing works 100%. No big problem but any tips much appreciated, James ***EDIT*** Just found out that checking "skip file validation" on import, brings in obj nicely with uv intact ***EDIT2*** But not on all models....
