Have you tried to map the texture to specific polygons? The 2nd and 3rd buttons in the upper left corner of the texture map controls (the green and yellow buttons) are for this. The 2nd button allows you to select multiple polygons. You will need to be in wireframe mode to see it. Then scale down the map in the x,y,z to .99. Steve

Hey Vic, What was your render times per frame (at what size) for that project? Steve

Wow, that one is slick. The camera movement is smooooooth. The music is great. Maybe the water on the fountain could look more real, more transparent and reflective. :) S. Houtzager

Cleaner/easier to set up GI and Photons. A way to connect Sky maps to reflection/ refraction maps so they move together and you can see which are being used in a list. :)

Thanks for the input. I was going for metallic on the second one, I just like the ripple on it. I think the reflections in plastic are more intense.

Glossy Plastic had been tricky for me to pull off so I did some tests with HDRI lighting and reflections. What do you think? Metal or something close.

I really like the Material Preview icon being different shapes as it will help you to separate different materials and keep track of them easier. I don't know if you had seen my idea I proposed a week or so ago where the user could "load an image" to the preview icon. This would be fairly simple and also would allow for all shaders to be viewed. The image could be any shape you want. http://www.eias3d.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=2456

Hey with EIM, is there anyway to export a selected object or just one object. It always exports every object in the file. I have tried putting other parts in folders and turning them off but it always exports everything. I am exporting to Fact. SH.

Just found this out today. Don't put EI files into folders that have a Forward Slash "/" in their names. The EI file will not open. Steven Houtzager

I am sure you have seen this little gem from Dave Stoddard. It allows you to simultaneously rotate the sky map and the reflection and refraction maps. It was a freebie of his. Hope this gets integrated into V9.

Same age brother! Have a great one and how about creating one of those worlds here on earth! Steven

I have seen that topic before. Looks like Diego is working with it in AE and EI I believe. http://www.eias3d.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=638&highlight=stereoscopic Intuition - 3d Renderings and Graphics for Product and Architectural Development Atlanta GA http://www.intuitionusa.com

Maybe this is fairly simple. In order to see what a preset material looks like, a person could load up a small rendered image. It would have to be a certain size and maybe in a certain folder within the EI program folder.

I want to create high glossy plastic and am going the HDRI lit route. The reflections are extremely crisp for plastic as you can see in the images on the page. Check out my progress and comments are always welcome. http://www.intuitionusa.com/glossy :)

Wondering if ViaCAD or some other program can tesselate/mesh as good as my good buddy EIM. You can really control how the mesh gets generated!

Some crumpled up paper and empty bottles around would look cool!

Are you using the new Safari browser on a Mac? It says that for all of the videos. Just double click on the warning and it will take you to the Vimeo page with the video.

I use those 2 shaders and they haven't crashed camera on me yet. Maybe using the proxy pluggin (which EI sells on the Pluggins page) will help here. I can take a look at the file if you send it to me to see if it crashes for me after 5 frames. Steven Houtzager
