Right going through all my tutorials i dont have any on PPP tutorials sorry. I could of swear i had some form my student days learning EIAS. Ill keep have a look around my old CDs if i find anything ill let you know.

I have about 16GBs of tutorials way back from version 2.8, ill have a look if you still want stuff.

already playing with the demo and there is so much new stuff its awesome now i just need 26 hours in the day to get my head around it all. Its great you got a demo out at the same time by the way, well done to everyone

Hi Tomas, Would i be able to coexist with 8 and 9 at the same system. (not run at the same time) but 9 doesnt kill 8 does it. also are project files on 9 somewhat compatible with 8 or not at all. thanks. also what are all the different download available on 9 ... EIAS 9.0 Environment, DS360 EIAS 01 ? are these part of the same upgrade or separate packages for purchase ? thanks and sorry for asking so many questions on such a busy day Mick

Im downloading the demo now. ahhh man its finally here. I dont know what to do with my self im so excited about this release.

okay i reinstall the dongle lion patched updated one and didnt work but then manually put the frameworks in and all is fine again. Looks like the dongle installer just didnt want to put in the eve3 frame in. anyway all is well in teh world again with my new/old MacPro 1,1.

right this is a new issue on the dongle startup. a new install on a MacPRo 1,1 snow leopard. just install my EIAS and i get a hardware dongle error on launching Animator. I have done 2 reinstall from my original disk to the web download and reboots. I've install the dongle software and lion patch updates and restarts. no luck. any ideas ? All i get is the error dialog "Hardware key error: INVALID_FUNCTION_CODE #1" everytime.

Hi Rich, Phungus and Tomas, I am an old EIAS user. I have been through all the phases of EIAS life from 2.7.2 broadcast and film versions to the Play Universe buyout to the repurchase, I have 17GB of EIAS only apps and sockets and plugins and tutorial on my HD, stuff that i have gathered since i started to us EIAS out of fear it would never make it to the next release. I spent hundreds of hours over the years gathering a historical software library of EI. I have stuck with EIAS and always will. I am your lifelong member. why ? because i was trained and got my 3D animation degree with EIAS. I moved out of the 3D field in 2000 into the TV broadcast world and now really work in the TV Broadcast. I should have moved on to MAYA or Softimage ( i originally trained on DEC alpha system with SI before EIAS) years ago but i never had the same love for them as i did for EIAS. So in the end i dont earn a living with EIAS but i will always be faithful to my first love. I am excited about the new EIAS 9 and i am being impatient but not because im in a hurry but rather because I am really seeing Tomas taking care of us like no one else has ever done before. I know this will be the best release EIAS has ever had. It might not have all the features of others, but it will be the best release in 15 years and that alone will make it worth it. if none of us cared i don't think we would even be having this chat here. I have to agree the old preview window was awesome. How could we get this feature back in to the plugin. or is there and alternative ?

Okay got it to work after a few reboots and reinstalls and uninstalls and reinstalls.

never mind mind other post just found this one and it works at least to download the files. will install now

Just installed Moutain lion and tried the Frameworks thing no luck launching EIAS 8. i get the no dongle there issue. and the links from Sphaera are dead when i click on them. do you have the links for them. thanks Mickael

Not one to sound like an impatient kid in the back seat but " Are we there yet !" :-)

this is when i started with EIAS broadcast 2.75p. wow thats so long ago now. out of curiosity did anyone here "retire young" yet :-)

Im in the Uk as well. I got trained in Softimage back in 96 when i worked doing trade shows demoing Softimage for Microsoft when they owned it. Then got trained on the pre-release 3D studio Max but then decided to get a 3D communication degree and got schooled with EIAS 2.7.5p film back in 97-98. I work more in UK TV Broadcast Production these days specialising in Editing/transcoding or all formats. So, Now a days i mostly dabble with EIAS doing odd jobs here and there (flying logos and crap like that) just so i can use EIAS. Still love it, just wish i could find time to use it more.

Hi Bernd, I didn't mean that because it was German that no good come from it. But rather that it wasn't related in any way with the American eitech from Texas. I would have said the same if it can from holland or France :-) Also I am of German heritage myself so I would have offend myself. Which I don't like to do :-)

I would love to work on my projects without needing the dongle. I'm not saying we shouldn't have the dongle at all. but lets say we could need the dongle only when needing to do a full render. There are so many times i want to catch up on a project on my laptop but damn i forgot my dongle on my home computer. So i dont use EIAS at all in those times. I find a another tool to do my work on the go for when i forget my dongle. How about only the Camera needs the dongle. Im probably beating a dead horse at this point. but every so often i want to work on a project on the go and ARRGh no dongle with me..... so i said to myself the next time it happens to me i'll post about it. Cant wait for 9 ....... seriously :-)

its really odd. there seems to be a german element to it as well. I suspect the holders of the domain are in germany. and they are added post to the wordpress which is powering the site. no good can come of this.

running Lion on an external HD because i can't trust the lack of rosetta right now. EIAS seems to have lost imageplayer (not a big issue) and Transporter is now dead as well. I havent fully tested EIAS 8 yet. Although i have noticed with some apps that Preferences files get corrupted and just have to be deleted. of course the the job would be easier if apple hadn't hidden the User Library folder form view. anyone else seeing any issues. Also i had a thought that you can emulated OSX Snow leopard server on parallels and that might be my solution for EIM and older PPC code apps i need to still use.
