I'm with you on this one Mickael, .eia would be a more recognizable extension for electricimage format an would stop the confusion with the Apple disk copy .img extension. Asking the OS to open all .img with EIAS simply switch the problem from one app to the other.

Diego, I just tried 2 different projects with EI_Layers rendered in Renderama and they imported without a glitch in AE CS3. I used EIAS 7.01 with 8 slaves on Snow Leopard.
-
Diego, I have no problem reading the .psd sequence coming from EI_Layers.shl in AfterEffects CS3 but I cannot import the RPF sequence the same way, I get an error message. I never used RPF so I cannot help you with this part of the problem. Here is my project with rendered files (53Mb) http://www.rdnmultimedia.com/eias/CS3_EIAS_test.zip

Mark, I never used CineFX. I merely pionted it to Ross as an alternative to After Effects. As for playing uncompressed HD format in realtime, it has to do with the amount of data your hard drive can output per second. (Tech info needed here) On the standard Drive that comes with my Mac, I cannot play move than a few seconds of uncompressed HD Quicktime. I get more time using my Raid but for most jobs, using compression is really the way to go. Try rendering with Quicktime using PNG compression.

Keep up the spirit Ross! Nice job you did. Have you look into Open Source applications? We get more and more surprisingly good stuff in there. Check out these links, it might pick your interest: http://www.cinefx.org/cinefx/ http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/

Cristobal did not used Electricimage in his latest Short Movie "Nature by Numbers" but I am a huge fan of his work and consider him a wonderful and inspiring artist. Have a look here: http://www.etereaestudios.com/docs_html/nbyn_htm/intro.htm

Hi Igors, Here is the project: http://www.rdnmultimedia.com/eias/MDD_PPPro.zip Link MDD group or Walker to PPPro then try setting the plugin: instant crash.

Beau travail Christian! Very well done! And for people following these forums, it is fun to see final products after seeing some of the problematic encountered during production. Thanks for sharing Christian!
-
Parenting PPPro V2 to MDD also cause a crash on my machine. I'm away from the computer with PPPro right now. Tonight I will post a simple project with an MDD file and PPPro so that more knowledgeable people can analyses it.

Mike, you hope we like the image... Well, I don't like it. I LOVE IT! Knowing that these models come without any texture and, of course, no lights, I must applaud the excellent work you do with these challenges. Always an inspiration. Thank you for making EIAS3D look so good! This will be an excellent addition to the Web site Gallery.

I installed EIAS 701 on a new OctoMac and I'm getting these strange tinted squares in Electricimage windows. All the usual voodoo was done, trash pref, reinstall, etc. This only occurs with EIAS, no other application has it. It doesn't affect the capacity of the application, all is fine but the display. Any ideas?

Polytrans should do it. http://www.okino.com/conv/filefrmt_3dimport.htm If you could ask your client to save it as FBX, that should also work. And this is the limit of my knowledge...

Hi Igors, When I do a Collect of a project with an EXR2Mesh group in it, it doesn't automatically include the .exr image used in the project. It would be nice if it did... -
Experimental idea for EXR2Mesh

Hi Igors, Thank you for the Shader. I cannot import my .exr image into bumps and displacement. Where do I go wrong? http://www.rdnmultimedia.com/eias/EXR_Project.zip -
Nice dojo, in fact, very nice dojo... Can't wait to see it develop. I'm sure many users crave the minute details of the setup so please keep posting your development with render time, photon count, sandwich eaten and all the rest. Could you post a wire of the top view so we identify the lights positions. Thank you.

Michel, When you reply to a thread, look at the bottom of the page, you will see Attachment. Use it to post images. You should be guided if you exceed the size. If you have Mobile Me you can make a photo album and post a link or you can use services like photobucket.

Chile was hit by an 8.8 magnitude earthquake last Saturday morning, at a strength 500 times that of the January earthquake in Haiti. Our friend FelixCat lives in Santiago but we received news today that he and his family are all well. Let us hope the population receive the relief they need and we extend our sympathy and condolences to those who have been affected by this tragedy. I have no problem on the latest 8 cores Mac Pro, Snow leopard and 7.01 and our friend Michel Faubert seems to be doing fine too.

Sim Cloth & Bones deformation
RichardJoly replied to Tomas Egger's topic in EIAS Plug-ins and Shaders
Ola Tom, Mine reads version 1 in Animator. The Igors corrected a motion blur problem I submitted in february 2008. They made the correction and called it 1.1 beta. Now the (Finder) file info of my Simcloth.rsc dates November 25 2006 while my Simcloth.plm dates february 29, 2008 but it still reads Version 1 in the plugin info inside animator. -
