  1. Awesome work! Thank you for sharing your tricks. Regards Frankg
  2. Hi Chip, I always use ViaCAD for file conversion. It reads Rhino .3dm and exports FACT quite well. Even the cheapest version ViaCAD 2D 3D can do this. Best regards Frankg
  3. The biggest problems about Rhino are the lack of construction history, which means that you always start from scratch if you're unhappy with the final result and their own 3D-library which isn't conform with industry-standards as ACIS or Parasolid. This causes severe problems in any production-workflow. On the other hand it is (unfortunately) the most popular 3D-Freeform NURBS modeler around. A much better solution with crisp and fast renderer for technical issues ( not to be compared with EIAS) is Solidthinking Evolve based on Parasolid by Siemens and fully reliable in production workflows and much much more intuitive to use as there are less tools which replace complete Rhino-Workflows. The price is the same as Rhinos if you add all the Plug-ins you need. It also has a production-ready version of EIAS Modelers ÃœberNURBS integrated. regards Frankg
  4. Hi, I found somewhere that it should be possible to export fbx from EIAS 9, but I did not find out how to do so. Is there an other way to export the model with textures into Cinema 4D? regards Frankg
  5. I recommend ViaCad or Shark or a little more special Solidthinking Evolve. I use Evolve in 90% of my projects and convert the exported STEP files into FACT using Via CAD. But VIaCAD alone would do the most jobs without problems if the focus is visualization. Evolve is more for design-development. I use EIAS as a rendering-option. Regards Frankg
  6. Did you try to apply a new material? I found this behavior often with purchased model-files. Frank
  7. Hi Brian, thank you, I will try. Frank
  8. Hi Felix, that's the point. I can't get the gems as crispy as I want. I want to have a spectacular caustics effect and the clear geometrical structure of the gems. I try some different values and update the render then. Thank you for your ideas. Frank
  9. Hi all, playing around with caustics and depth of field. Hope you like it.
  10. Hi all, is it possible to run EIM in the last MacOS with Rosetta, Snow Leopard I think, in a virtual machine under Mac OSX 10.10? I've found some projects I never converted and don't have a Mac which can run Snow Leopard anymore. Regards Frank
  11. Congratulations! I like the clean look too and the smoothness of animation, the variation of things and colors. Really enjoyable to look at. Frank
  12. Hi Scott, congratulations! Please show us:) Regards Frank
  13. Hi all, I just uploaded some of my stuff to Vimeo. No action movies, more technical visualizations. Hope you like it. Regards Frankg
  14. As long as it is "free" Rhino is a good deal. If you have to pay for it I personally would suggest ViaCAD or more intuitive: www.solidthinking.com > Evolve. Evolve is expensive 1850 €, but way better in the design process than Rhino. It saves me half the time in developing a design, which makes it a very deal for me. regards Frankg
  15. The best EIAS-team ever. Tomas and the Igors make a very good job. Tomas is always constructive, helpful and in a good temper. May be some other 3D software has more features, but the overall package makes me feel well with it. regards Frankg
  16. Hi all, new Version online: http://www.kraftraum-design.de/Server/Kraftraum_Artwork.htm Now with GI and better timing, interaction with text. Richard, thank you for your 2 cents (also in Euro they are cents:)). I thought about that, probably in a second film which shows the functions. By the way: the book light was made and built in Electric Image Modeler. Unfortunately I can't use it anymore, so I can't change the model. regards Frankg
  17. Thank you all for the input, which is very helpful for me. I'm working on that and will show you. Is there a limit for uploaded data? I tried to upload the movie directly, but it was refused. It is about 4,3 MB regards Frankg
  18. That was my impression too. Thank you for the input.
  19. Hi, don't want to annoy you, but… :) Could you please help me? I'm doing some renderings of my old projects for my new upcoming website (Industrial design). Since I know the items inside out i loose control over the impact they have. I will post many of them, here is the first one:) Here is the link: http://www.kraftraum-design.de/Server/Kraftraum_Artwork.htm Please wait some seconds for playback or right-click for download. Best regards Frankg
  20. Hi Ian, I have Pacifica. I and send it to you. Regards Frank
  21. Mainly Solidthinking Evolve. Good for freeform-modeling and form creation, ViaCAD Pro and SharkFX for converting Evolve-Files in fact:) Frankg
