  1. You can import .obj files very well already using the FBX libraries, here's how:

    1. Go to the file menu > open

    2. Change the file filter to ‘all files’

    3. Select a .obj, .dxf or .3ds file

    4. Click ‘Open’

    5. Press ‘Okay’ on the FBX import box

    6. Save the .fac conversion

A new project will open with the converted file.

Just be aware that materials don’t translate well with FBX,

  2. Hi Jens,

What about making EIAS 3d a Carbon Neutral company, it would cost (I have made some calculations) £56 (€65) per year to do this... We could have a badge on the website and put it in our marketing materials...

    Best,

  3. Hi all,

I remember a discussion about this...

It wouldn't be a huge project to 'put a basic version of Camera inside Animator'...

    With some limitations like...

    '256x256'

    'Phong only'

    'Set of default lights'

    'No AA'

This would provide almost instant renders of objects for scene setup...

Perhaps the Igors could comment on how long such a feature would take to implement?

  4. I like the idea of access to at least basic tutorials from within the app.... Just one window with a graphic, and a list of movies that can be watched (they are launched in QT).
