hillsville Posted August 6, 2015 Report Posted August 6, 2015 Since moving away from EI Modeler to FormZ, I'm finding it pretty much impossible to animate an object via a defined path.Is anyone having similar issues. Quote
S. Houtzager Posted August 6, 2015 Report Posted August 6, 2015 I have had good luck doing that with Path Finder and Swage. Could not get contortionist to work for me. I use FormZ and Rhino for my models. Quote
hillsville Posted August 7, 2015 Author Report Posted August 7, 2015 ...thank you for sharing.Would you tell me the steps in creating a "path" with Path Finder.Once you create the path, do you use contortionist to bring the path and object together?Thank you, again.... Quote
Tomas Egger Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 Ola Gabe!I gave you the wiremaker plug-in, which is really simple to use.. Please try it.thankstom Quote
davidwu67 Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 Used contortionist with v9 quite a bit. I usually use effectors to create my path, so you can change it anytime within EI. Works okay for me. Quote
hillsville Posted August 7, 2015 Author Report Posted August 7, 2015 ...forgive my "denseness" when it come to using effectors to create a path -- how is that accomplished? Quote
davidwu67 Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 See the screenshot.Basically add an effector, give it a unique name, turn on its animation channel. Move its position at different points in time. And you will have a path.In Contortionist, set Path Type to Use Effector, and enter the name of that path. Quote
hillsville Posted August 9, 2015 Author Report Posted August 9, 2015 ...thanks to you lights have come on -- I understand. It's great to have several options to get the job done. Thanks, again, for your time and expertise. Quote
