Rhino for Mac (in development)

Hi Everyone,

 

This may have been discussed here before... Rhino for Mac (in development). Downloadable version (WIP) of Rhino 3D modeller for Mac.

Exports .3ds files that import into EI, layers and all.

 

I'm trialing it to see if it will work for my purposes.

Hey Michael,

 

Been using Rhino for many years and never been able to get "layers" into EI.  What voodoo are you using? I would need to group things and those groups would go into EI.

 

That Rhino Mac interface is one of the best I have ever seen.

Don't complain : as long as the beta Mac version is under development, it's free ;-)

 

I've purchased the PC version long ago, but didn't open it in the last few years… The Mac beta is pretty functional.

Yes, it is pretty functional. Still no plugins and the layers will drive you nuts and make you appreciate EI Modeler even more.. :)   I did some tutorials on Digital Tutor and was up to speed pretty quick on the Mac version.

As long as it is "free" Rhino is a good deal.

If you have to pay for it I personally would suggest ViaCAD or more intuitive: www.solidthinking.com > Evolve.

Evolve is expensive 1850 €, but way better in the design process than Rhino. 

It saves me half the time in developing a design, which makes it a very deal for me.

I have read on the Rhino Forum that development for Rhino Mac should be done by the end of the year..... more or less. Then ya gotta pay da man.
