apu
Hi, I'm trying to apply a texture to just one side of a plane. I uncheck negative z, but it appears on both sides. I have always found pretty difficult this feature in EIAS. Does anyone know how to explain it?. I've watched Ian's tutorial but when I try to do it one a plane imported from Silo or a Ubershape plabe it doesnt work. Help, please!!! S. Houtzager
Have you tried to map the texture to specific polygons? The 2nd and 3rd buttons in the upper left corner of the texture map controls (the green and yellow buttons) are for this. The 2nd button allows you to select multiple polygons. You will need to be in wireframe mode to see it. Then scale down the map in the x,y,z to .99. Steve

Tomas Egger
Ola Apu, Its not possible, you will need to fake it :( You will need 2 planes and move a bit one plane from another. Thanks Tom

interstellar
Ola Apu, Its not possible, you will need to fake it :( You will need 2 planes and move a bit one plane from another. Thanks Tom The kind of faking mentioned by Tomas works very well. I created a book with turning pages and, as Tomas suggests, each of my pages consisted of two planes separated by the smallest possible amount. Each plane had its own, unique texture map that represented the front & back sides of the page. Identical deformations were applied to both planes so that the turning page bent like real paper would. Of course, the planes had enough polygons to look smooth under the Deformations. Joe T

S. Houtzager
I just textured map a cube's front and back with 2 different maps and it worked when I clicked off the negative Z button. I had to reduce the map slightly so it did not bleed. There is a tutorial on it on VTC.com called texturing by hand. Steve

BJMonkey
I just textured map a cube's front and back with 2 different maps and it worked when I clicked off the negative Z button. Doesn't that add 4 extra polygons per page though?
