  1. I've tried that, no matter how thin the stripe, I get the same error in all cameras. I have also tried to see if it is a specific group that is causing the problem but it doesn't seem so.
  2. I got this camera error, is this something I can fix in my model? I am really not trying to render with that high a resolution 2880x1456. And this is not the most complex thing I have rendered here. see attached files. Thanks.

    any feedback

Thanks Richard, I agree with you, I'll look out for that. Luckily this is the part of the video I am still working on. I'll post a fixed version tomorrow, I'd greatly appreciate your opinion again tomorrow. Thanks.
  4. Any feedback on this will be welcomed. I am currently improving the part with colors on the streets, but all the other stuff is almost done. Thanks. http://vimeo.com/24428971
  5. Hi Tom, so here is what the project looks like almost finished, I just have to render some more seconds of the same stuff to have a longer video and I have to work on the editing. I'd appreciate any suggestions or comments on any aspect of the project. If you have any suggestions for the music I'd be very grateful, I don't usually listen to instrumental music that can bu used for background in a video so I am a little lost there. Thanks. http://vimeo.com/24428971
  6. Thank you so much, I'll give it a shot. The site seems to be down, but i'll visit later. I would love to help you with the project, I don't know if I am up to the task but if you tell me what it is I can help you with, I'll see if I can do it. Thanks again. Victor.
  7. Has anyone ever used HDRI lighting for an exterior or interior with an artificially created HDRI image? (an hdri that exactly lights the way you need it to: direction, color, shadow softness, etc.) If so how would I go about creating one? Thanks. Vic.
  8. Just a couple of questions Tom: is there a way of telling how much an image took to render after the camera window closed? I wanted to make the image much brighter, something like the image below: http://www.eias3d.com/category/gallery/architecture/page/7/ 89 - Waterfront-castro - Created by Watson/Associates but if I remove the block distance the render takes much much longer, it looks great but it takes too long even after I save the photons to a file. Any suggestions on how to get more light in there without making it take for ever? Thanks. Victor Aguilar.
  9. Thanks so much Tomas. I'll work with that and I'll send you a link for the finished video, I hope I am done in less than 2 weeks. Victor Aguilar. aguilarpierri@gmail.com
  10. By final project you mean all the groups, all the textures? it is a very large folder. I uploaded the project, it is called INT CENTRANORTE. Let me know if you can open it. Thanks.
  11. Here is parts of the project, the whole of it is too big. My render time is like 15min on my iMac 3.06GHz. I want to be able to keep it under 5min since the whole video is due very soon. I had to compress the fact and the project, hope you can open it. Thanks, so much for your help.
  12. beautiful!!!
  13. Using Area light. Trying to use photons to have a really fast render, it is not working out like that so far. I have turned off everything like glass, reflective objects.... I all you can see now is the groups I applied the dicer to. It is only one area light, I figured it should be pretty fast.
  14. Thanks Meester, that did the job. Worked great.
  15. Thanks, I'll give a a shot. I have tried the block distance but it makes my image darker, it shouldn't do that should it?
  16. For some reason I can't get a smooth surface like Ian gets in the tutorial. I also post an image with my settings, am i doing something wrong? img 1
  17. Thanks so much guys, I have experimented with both methods and have decided to go with HDRI, I have a little trouble finding the right HDRI lightprobe but I think I am getting there. It is also very fast so that helps a lot. Any ideas on how to get the HDRI to give me shadows for the trees? I guess the shadows are too soft to show up. Thanks. Vic.
  18. So I have this scene with a very high count of polygons. The parking lot will be filled with cars, there will be more trees and with more detail... I have been watching Ian's tutorials on the different ways to light a scene, but I can't figure out what to do here. Please help. The problem I guess is I need to be able to render each frame under in 5min aprox. I have a 3.06Ghz iMac. Thanks.
  19. Ian mentions in the tutorial that Rodeo comes with EIAS7, I have EIAS8 but I don't see the plugin, how can I get it?
