RAYT – Raytracer 2. Camera ran out of memory allocating BSP tree root node. Leaf size given. Hi, I am getting this error message everytime I get to a certain point on an animation. What is BSP? how can I look for the problem?

I using an adaptive skymap to light this scene, I love it because it lets me use much more vegetation than other methods, the only thing is that some of the tree shadows fliker a little bit. Is it beacuse I am using renderama? or is there some setting in GI i can move to fix this? http://vimeo.com/29324718 Thanks. Vic.

Thanks, and I know, I suffer a lot with the music. I have tried to use garage band to come up with music of my own, but I never get anything good enough. I am not a musician. The speed is the photons, I only have 3 computers with 7 procesors total. So the longest renders took about 30min/frame (frames with all the trees in the garden) others took like 5min/frame. The interior of the appartment with only one area light with photons, and a couple of other normal lights was really fast because of that. It is a very fun tool to use. The party room had many area lights, one for each window, I wonder if I could have gotten faster result with jst one area light covering all windows and doors. How do you all do the music for your videos? Vic.

OK, here is the almost finished product. I say almost because the client hasn't said if they need any changes, I hope not. I wasn't able to fix the shimering dinner plates because of the render time, but I will if they ask for any changes. Yes Mark the people are 2D videos from People in Motion. I still wellcome any coments, they are always helpfull. Vic. http://vimeo.com/29132159

Thanks, very good pints, will take in consideration. Vic.

Thanks Tom i realy was going crazy with the plates on the table. Because if I render a preview there is no flikering so it is something that is very hard to fix if you don't know exactly where to go. I'll give it shot, loving those photons by the way. Vic.

I am working on a project called Entrada, I have another project called "cars" in witch I have already animated and textures cars. I want to merge Cars into Entrada. And this happens. EIAS can't read Entrada. Why is it trying to read entrada? Entrada is the one I am working on, it is the one that is open, it is the one that will contain Cars. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks Tom.

This has happened to me a couple of times I never am able to find out why. As I try to merge a project into the one I am using I get a message saying EIAS can't read the the project I am ON. It can't read the project I am using! There is a screen capture attached. Please help. Thanks.

Thanks Bill, that is a good idea. That is what I was looking for: animated clipable texture maps of trees. I don't have Tree storm. Do you know if there is a place one can buy such maps? Thanks. Vic.

I need to have a woman jogging arround in an video I am doing. I guess I can do it with an FBX figure and import the animation from POSER. Does anyone know where I can get a good FBX model? Thanks. Victor.

Wow, so no options for me to have windy trees in my videos just yet? There are no other options? has anyone seen some texture maps y could buy for this? like the ones they sell of people in motion?
-
Thanks, yes it is a lot of fun to watch and also very useful. I highly recommend it. Vic.

I would love to know if i can use woody3D with EIAS on a mac. I can't find a demo for mac I can download and I get no answer from them. Richard, have you used woddy3d with EIAS? A client of mine saw an animation with moving trees and is asking me for something like that. I really need this or something like it. I don't have a G4 to use ONYX with.

Thanks Tom. Yes I saw the odd frames that resulted from smaller renders I did of just some part of the window. I broke the whole thing up into many projects, but the bigger ones are 3910026 polygons and 4842161 polygons (this the interior with all the plants and the roof structure). When is EIAS 9 coming out?

Up here I put together all the previews I used during the precess. I find it entertaining. The finished video is also down here. Used a lot of the video tutorias posted by Ian and others. http://vimeo.com/user5270187/videos

THanks I'll give it a try.

Hi everyone, I was able to solve the problem last time, but I am getting the same RAYT message with this one. I am trying to render at 4000x2022 pixels, I know it tis a lot but the client needs it. I saw a video of Ian talking about when he renders the interior of that mall we can see in the galerie. He used a lot of time, a lot of rays and bounces and it still came out. Is there a giude line as to the amount of polygons I can have in a scene before I run out of memory or any such thing I can go and read so that this doesn't keep happening to me? I can also upload the project if anyone wants to have a go at it. BTW, last time I talked to my client and I was able to render a smaller image and that is how I worked around the problem. That is why I am still in trouble. Also the RAYT message shows up really soon after the camera starts and it doesn't matter how thin the stripes are.

Thanks. I use FormZ for modeling and EIAS v8 for rendering. I had to remove the bus terminal video for now. I am not authorized to show it yet. But I put up the Avenida Tres one. And I'll have some new ones soon.

Yes, of course, sorry. Vic.

The way I checked for that was by switching groups on and off. I was able to do it quickly because the error always came out seconds after the camera started. Is it possible to get that error in one of the slaves and not the other? even if all cameras are running with 2mb of ram?
