  1. Hi, how can I stop the camera from clipping away my model? Objects that are close to the camera get cut. It seems like a useful tool but I didn't even know that was possible. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/k0m26rx6vapturb/AACAmjJox62htRSo31QNZtWXa Vic.
  2. Wow, it works!!! :) Now I am scared to make minor adjustments, I don't want to mess with the settings. I put some renders un the dropbox. Thanks again.
  3. Hi, thanks, no I didn't know they were there. I am looking at some models right now, it seems so simple. I'll just import the whole project into mine and see if it works. Thank you.
  4. I messed with the photons an GI all day but I can't get it to look as god as the American Kitchen in the EIAS gallery. Any tips? https://www.dropbox.com/sh/k0m26rx6vapturb/AACAmjJox62htRSo31QNZtWXa
  5. Hi Thomo, I followed all your advise and the tutorial. It did get a lot faster. Not sure if fixing the transparency settings for things that only had clipping helped, but I did it anyway. It helped a lot when I did it for the glass, it went from 15 min to 5 min. Amazing. But here is the whole project I can surely use any tip you can give me on how to make the lights faster, I still have to add some good looking grass for some of the shots so I am worried about that. Any ideas on how to make some good looking grass for when the camera is close to it? Thanks Vic. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/k0m26rx6vapturb/AABEMX-WiBZZhGx4glpstZnsa
  6. Hi Thomo What is a validated FAC?
  7. Wow Ok, no I did not do that, but I will. I'll post my results as soon as I do. Thanks.
  8. Well you guys are really good at this, aren't you? :-) I followed your advice and I have finally rendered one frame in under 5min. It was something like 15min before. And I don't even need to do any extra shadow render or anything. I just need to improve my gardening and textures now. Thanks for the help. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/k0m26rx6vapturb/QMVkTSW9V3 All transparent objects are set to raytrace and GI-irradiance. Only one parallel light right now with GI-normal. GI settings in dropbox. All other lights I plan to use are small radials with no shadows inside the apartments, just to be able to see inside a little bit. That shouldn't increase render time to much I hope. Also not in all apartments only a few. Thanks. Vic.
  9. Hi Thomo, thank you for all your help. I am finally able to get back to this project. Non of my people or trees have transparencies, they only have clipmaps and all the clipmaps are separate b/w jpgs. Only the glass is transparent (I made all the adjustments you described already). The trouth is that if I remove all the vegetation it all renders in under 2 min even with furniture inside the apartments. I'm just going to have to find a better way to add the trees. What I would like some help with is in getting to the perfect way to light this. I'll include in the dropbox a finished render I have to equal in quality, and some of my attempts. Again, thanks for everything. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/k0m26rx6vapturb/QMVkTSW9V3
  10. Thank you rvlna, very nice projects.
  11. Thanks for the colouring tip, it's important to remove imported lights and cameras.
  12. I wish I could go to EI university right now.
  13. Hi Thomo and Tomas, here is the whole project, please tell as soon as you have downloaded it, I don't want to have it accessible to the public for ever. All help is welcomed, I need this project to look really good and I don't have too much time to render it (as usual). As it is, I was rendering at aprox. 9min per frame. Not bad, but it is still missing details. Some better grass would be nice. Thanks in advance. Vic. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/k0m26rx6vapturb/QMVkTSW9V3
  14. Hi all, what is the best way to store textured models of trees and cars and humans all ready to use in one project after the other? I have a couple of projects with all of this and then I just merge them when ever I need. Is this the best way? Vic.
  15. I followed your recomendations, no GI sampling, sky color instead of skymap, reverse ilum. sampling level 2, and no soft shadows (really didn't need that). After that I did a GI pass, you know, with all colors to white. Is there a way to get nice shadows without that step? Is there an absolute best way to light a scene like this one? Thanks Vic.
  16. Yes, I was able to fix the shadows too, thanks.
  17. Thank you guys, problem 100% solved.
  18. Hi Thomo, it turned out that the first time the camera crashed it cused it to skip a frame. That one frame was causing cameras to crash every time renderana asked them to render it. I replaced it manualy and the problem disapeard. I have to render that problem again. If it happens again I'll send you everything. Thank you very much for the help.
  19. Hi everyone, any ideas on how to get this shadows to stop shaking. The reflected ones are really bad. Also give me everything you can think of to reduce render time. I'll include shots of the GI settings. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/k0m26rx6vapturb/QMVkTSW9V3 Thanks. Vic.
  20. Hi Mark, How did you change the filename? You mean for all .img files? Vic.
  21. Thank you all for your answers, they are very useful. I will stick with formZ for now but I downloaded the Rhino for mac too, I'll check it out. I have never had problems exporting to EIAS, it really works great, but I only do architectural work (no complicated shapes I need to triangulate). The only problem I have with FormZ is that this last project was a 25Km stretch of highway through some mountains. Editing and reshaping a terrain model was no fun at all. Especially one that large. I hope that Rhino is better at this. I'll post some clips of the animation as soon as I am legally allowed. Again, thank you all.
  22. Hi, This is what I am rendering. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/k0m26rx6vapturb/QMVkTSW9V3 I got the the computer today to see all of them had crashed and when I hit reopen, all the cameras tried to render frame 149. And that frame is already rendered. Very strage. Vic.
