thingmaker Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 Hello everyone. I am working on a small personal project and could use some feedback on making my model look a bit more realistic. I modeled it from scratch and am pretty happy with that part and with the texturing/painting on the abdomen. My biggest weakness is in lighting and I am only about half as proficient with texturing as I would like. So in these areas I am looking for critical comments on improvement. Thanks. -Derryl Additionally, here is a Quicktime VR image of the model: Honeybee It's about 8MB so you may have to wait a few minutes for it to load before you can spin it around. Quote
Tomas Egger Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 Ola Derryl, Great work!! I did this Honeybee to a TV advertising a few years ago, I used a Illuminator in that time to make a nice and rich shade in the body and fur, now you could play with a .hdri light and .hdri reflection :) Hope that helps. Thanks Tom Quote
kbartlez Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 These look great. My apologies for the dumb question, but is there a fur shader for EI? I'm assuming that's what these were done in. Thanks. Quote
thingmaker Posted August 2, 2011 Author Report Posted August 2, 2011 Thanks! Yes, I used Placer Deposit from Northern Lights. These look great. My apologies for the dumb question, but is there a fur shader for EI? I'm assuming that's what these were done in. Thanks. Quote
thingmaker Posted August 2, 2011 Author Report Posted August 2, 2011 Thanks Tomas, I will try that. Can you suggest a good HDRI tutorial? -Derryl Quote
