Using EI9.1 on 24 core mac

For some reason, on this file when I set camera's cores up to 22 cores it does not render consistently.  The blocks are different shades of dark.  With 10 cores it is consistent.  I have set the ram to optimal in camera which I have 24GB.  Other files without furniture it renders 3 area lights smoothly and consistent.  Any ideas?
