import fact 9.1

In EIAS 9.0 there was a "import FACT" option in Add Object menu. In 9.1 it is gone... This option would bring up the Import Options to merge groups, calculate normals etc. for FACT files.

 

It still works for other formats, but how do I get the "Import Options" when adding a FACT file?

Ola Brian,

We changed the workflow now:

1) you add a fact model or have already a fact in your scene which you feel that the groups have some bad geometry for example.

2) if you have already your scene, your project done with materials and textures with Facts, it's not a problem.

3) select the bad groups in the project window or select the fact files.

4) go to menu bar / export / Validate Fact

5) it will open the import Fact file options

The beauty of this new feature is it re-import the groups without change the hierarchy, materials, textures, really cool and improve our workflow ;)

Oh yes, i needed too some minutes to understand the new workflow, but

it is waaaaaay better than the old way, you will like it for sure!

 

In some cases just open a fresh prj and do your export/import there

to get the improved fact files to add them later to your main prj.
