bdismukes Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 I'm working with a lot of text made with Zax ProModeler and am finding that the imported models do not inherit the scale of the parent object or null even though I have the option checked in the user preferences panel. Does not translate through to: What am I doing wrong? Quote
Guest supernova Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 man... 95% of what I do in EI is brought in from Zax Invigerator pro... I am ALWAYS checking the inherit scale dialogue manually for each object... your sample does not have it checked. The only problem over the years I run into and still have not figured out totally... is when I inherit scale... THEN try deforming it... and the model does not "stick" together... worse case scenario... export the object and re import it. Sorry I dont have a 'fix' for you. It "should" work fine... and im a huge user of zax 'fact' models... Quote

At least it occurred to me to try Pro Modeler as a format converter. I've never had much luck with Transporter converting Modo's .obj files, but now it's a breeze. Thanks! Quote

Tomas Egger Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 Ola, I'm traveling, out of town. If you want, upload the model, I will take a look. Our new import system will change our workflow ;) Thanks Tom Quote
bdismukes Posted April 21, 2011 Author Report Posted April 21, 2011 Well sure! It's nothing special, at least by Zaxwerks standards...Curse of the Atomic Greasers.zip Quote
RichardJoly Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Don't set inherit scale individually, set one then clic on "inherit scale" with the right mouse button and select "set all" or whatever other option you see fit. Quote

I should not have said that i "always" manually check the boxes... i mis spoke... Quote
