    I am experiencing a weird situation with SimCloth 1.1; i can´t make it work. I´m following the Ian´s tutorial step by step, but some thing are not the same. After grouping an sphere and a plane to the plug in, if i doubleclick in the plug in project window, opens first a SimCloth.plm group info, no the SimCloth interface directly. I must click in the live plug in button to open.

    I set up everything as Ian do (i have opened the tutorial in other Mac). Click close and go to preview... nothing happens. ´til i right click on preview... then opens, click and nothing happens.

    With SimCloth 1.0 i has no problems. I can´t underestand what i´m doing wrong.

    I´m, in a G5 Mac, OS X 10.5.8 and 1,5 Gb RAM. EiAS 8

    Ubershape v6.0.0

    BTW: why doesn´t accept names for the objects?

    Thanks a lot. I´m sure will be a dumb problem and i will feel dumber in the morning:D

  2. Hi, friends, thanks a lot for your kind words. Hopefuly my family and me lives in the capital city that is extremely well build, we are, sort of, used to this hearthquakes and the construction rules are very hard. The building where I live is so strong that I can´t made holes in the walls to put a poster on it. Obviously, some buildings are not build under the rules and they fall apart, but was minimum. The catastriphic angle lays in the absolut lazines of our gobernment to make whatever it takes to take care of the problem... well, another aftershock, if you excuse me...

    Sorry, can´t resist.

    I agree that, us, the users, are lately a bored apathic user base. It´s curious, because never EiAS was more interested in the user base as now. That MDD plug in is very exiting and was sorely missed (for me at least). May be too many years of diapointings?

    I suposse a bunch of new features and this new attitude will revitalize us, the oooold tired users.

  4. Hi. Great to have importing MDD file format. Something that could be useful too is exporting MDD. Maybe i´m saying nosense but i was thinking in export an animation from EiAS in MDD. Strip all the bones and etc from the model and apply the MDD file backit as a baked animation... may this reduce the calculation times in rendering?...

    The MDD import in EiAS3D works pretty well, when you have a Mac TAFA count me in!

    Thinking aloud and messing with other people´s business... I think if TAFA and EiAS could have a more strong relationship could make a good business sense: Besides his strong hard surface rendering caracteristics, EiAS has many and severe weakness in the character animation side, the facial morphing is horrendous and there is my interest in TAFA, if TAFA have a strong interoperativity with EiAS (even the hability of reading Fact format) I think could be great for both. A number of new users for TAFA in Mac and PC and better posibilities for EiAS3D in the market expanding his field of action.

    Both are little companies ruled by the people that makes posible the app, and that is a strong point...

  5. Amazing, that is a loooong waited funcionality for the people trying to do Character animation in EiAS.

    How is the Modus Operandi?

    I think the modells are .obj and are animated like that and, after that, exported to fact and aplyed the .mdd file. No problems with the point order?

    Conversion with obj2fact?

    I think, too, that there is some problem with plug ins and shaders. I had problems with MForge, the last build solved them but if I go to materials where I have a lot of them, each kind in a sub folder, EiAS 8 crashes (was never a problem in v.7). The problem is solved with no sub folder.

    Weird. Hope you can solve your problem.

  7. Ok, ok; I´m a broken record (or CD or DVD for the young ones) but to have some modern implementation for Ch. animation could be great. I think something like TAFA or better... BTW, TAFA is a one man work, may be could be possible use part of the code... the creator is a very nice guy and i supposse some arrangemet could be possible.

    Ok, I don´t know what I am talking about, but is the idea.

    Mforge is working to me, It was not working before?

    Any project with Mforge dont work?

    Probably you will need the latest build

    It works fine in EiAS 7, but in v.8 says it´s invalid... maybe it´s not the last build. Where can i find it, and how many costs?
