thingmaker Posted June 28, 2014 Report Share Posted June 28, 2014 When EI7 came out there was a folder called 'Projects for 7'. One of the projects was by Hans Groothuis called Sam's Bike IBL. I had rendered it then and thought man, that looks fantastic but over 14 minutes a frame? So I rendered the file again on my Mac Pro and now it's only 19 secs.! I don't know if the biggest speed gain is the newer computers or EI9 (probably a mix of both) but keep up the great work, EI! supernovavfx Posted June 29, 2014 Report Share Posted June 29, 2014 im not sure I even have 8 any more. You all did great work in 9.1 speed wise. Its very noticeable. Yes, the fastest iMac I have with internal SSD's and an external SSD raid is very very fast. After Effects noticed some nice speed improvements, but EI, as usual…. noticed the biggest jump... some of that I'm sure is the faster machine, but Im well aware of all the time put into Optimizing EI.
