Usb dongle driver problems

I just received the usb dongle but i'm having some trouble, maybe partly my fault-

 

I had the old parallel port dongle attached to a PCI add-in card, i first removed the old dongle but left the PCI card in the machine, installed the USB driver and it worked fine until today when i removed the PCI card - but forgot to uninstall the card from windows first, which is what i'd normally do.

 

The issue seems to be that EI is still looking for the parallel dongle, i am guessing... anyway i get the following error-  "Hardware key error: Driver_not_installed"

 

Windows 7 64bit.

Well i decided after failing solve the issue to put the pci card back into the machine - parallel dongle detached, EI now works again with USB dongle, how strange :-/

 

I'll have to look into this when i have some time.
