interstellar Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Hi Everyone, Does anyone have experience rendering scenes for large-format films? Someone has asked me if I can render a project at 3072x4096 pixels. I set the resolution of one of my 1920x1080 EI projects to that size, rendered a few frames and it worked fine. I was just wondering if I might encounter any unexpected hurdles, aside from the long render times and large storage needs. Thanks in advance, Joe Quote
Tomas Egger Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Ola Joe, Are you planing to use GI in your renders? with that size, probably Camera 8 will not handle it, need to test. Camera 9 eats everything :) Thanks Tom Quote

JoeV Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 I have rendered out very large files by using Render to Frame Strips. I believe that someone mentioned that is how to work around memory limitations. So, when is 9 coming out? :) Quote
Tomas Egger Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 Ola Joe, We are doing our best, but our last EIAS optimization is really more complex than we thought.. Thanks Tom Quote
