Phungus Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 I was trying out the MDD export from Animation Master and importing this into EIAS. But it keeps giving me an error message as if the geometry does not match the MDD file. It makes no difference if I convert the file to Fact in Silo or try to convert the OBJ in EIAS. Importing the OBJ/MDD into LW works without problems so the OBJ and MDD obviously matches, which makes me suspect that the issue may be the latest version of Silo or the import into EIAS. Can I send the MDD and OBJ somewhere for closer inspection? Quote
Tomas Egger Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Ola Phungus, Sure, please, upload to us, if these files are big enough to our forum don't allow it, please, upload in our FTP. Thanks a lot Tom Quote
Phungus Posted March 7, 2011 Author Report Posted March 7, 2011 Here is the OBJ/mtl and the MDD. There is a couple of polys missing due to the 5-point patches in Animation Master...... Quote
Tomas Egger Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Ola Phungus, I'm out of the office, I will be able to test in the end of this week ;) I'm on IPhone now ;) We already have several EI / MDD experts here which can figure out.. Thanks Tom Quote
Diego Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Hi Phungus, It seems that your MDD file is ok, but your model is not exactly the same than the MDD. Your first MDD frame it is a character running, but your .obj it is a cross position of the character, so it is not possible to match it. A nice trick that Igors taught me is that you can use "Display Point Shaded" Mode in Camera view window so you can see the points of the MDD. and see the differences between the MDD and OBJ. Im not expert but, the most typical MDD issues are: _First frame of the MDD it is not identical to de .OBJ _different scales or positions between the MDD and OBJ (need to be corrected in the export process) Hi hope this help.:) Cheers Diego Quote
Phungus Posted March 8, 2011 Author Report Posted March 8, 2011 Thanks, Diego. I´ll have another try with Animation Master to see if I can locate the error. Quote
