Hi

maybe I'm a dreamer, and this is my dream:

I want to build multiple PCs basically only with an Asus motherboard (P8H67 something) with the new i7 2600 cpu (Sandy Bridge) and a 1T HDD, 8G RAM, cooler and power supply.

Check this guy: Lukáš Duběda www.duber.cz he did this packing it all into a 1U rack unit.

But it seems to me that to really focus on low cost sytems Eias Camera should be available for Linux. I am using Mac for almost evrything I do, but for the rendering I will consider Windows 7 or Linux if it was an option.

Any opinion?

Is the new Camera very dependent on OS X and Windows' APIs? The idea of Camera on Unix seems fairly advantageous on paper, as it would substract the OS' costs from a render farm.

Although I guess most EIAS users don't go beyond one or two non-server multiprocessor Macs or PCs.

(Would it work on WINE ;)?)
