  1. How would you get the circle reflection to fade out and will it work if there is a texture already on the floor?
  2. Some kind of bitmap image with an alpha in the reflection tab and then turn down the map maybe? I found some other stuff(Lightwave stuff) here: http://books.google.ca/books?id=nLSVKEavyPcC&pg=SA11-PA62&lpg=SA11-PA62&dq=how+to+make+a+reflection+fade+in+3d+program&source=bl&ots=r1aVNkni2c&sig=eBBcYw6FmhjDHAnSKjI5THgCoWw&hl=en&sa=X&ei=ZgG3U6XtJs-lyAST84H4Bg&ved=0CCoQ6AEwBA#v=onepage&q=how%20to%20make%20a%20reflection%20fade%20in%203d%20program&f=false
  3. Interesting! Autodesk apparently giving these away for free next week I think. Anybody ever use them?Toxic is a node based compositor they used to make. http://www.cgchannel.com/2014/03/autodesk-to-release-toxik-and-matchmover-for-free/
  4. You are correct! The key is to do as you said scale down first and then scale up with the command key pressed down. i guess this should be updated in the manual. So move first to the left and then to the right and it will do it properly.
  5. The sequence in the video is: Select the time slider with command down. slide it across the top to select the time bar at the top. The again with command down select all the frames and move them back to speed up the motion. That seems to work in a simple test I did. But what if you want to increase the time scale or speed up the motion? that does not seem to work. It just bunches them up
  6. I don't think control works on a Mac for this. the old documentation does not seem to work there. Command does something but the whole thing looks very iffy. Are there some undocumented commands going on there? I would stick with the offset frames dialog box.
  7. Here's info from the old manuals. http://www.filedropper.com/275keyframescale http://www.filedropper.com/offsetkeyframes25
  8. Do you mean the occlusion that's in the material interface? reflection maps with occlusion if you want? It's in the raytrace pulldown in the reflectivity tab.
  9. I tried an ubercube in eias 8 and if create uv is on it renders grey. It doesn't render the bricks evenly either with uv off screwing up on the top and adding some grey bricks here and there.
  10. Yes it's at rendertime. > Does true infinite plane only work at render time? Yes. As all volumetric plugins. But effect is also visible in VPR.
  11. I'm not sure. They seem be in the volumetrics tab. The info is here: http://www2.trueart.pl/?URIType=Directory&URI=Products/Plug-Ins/TrueInfinitePlane
  12. Maybe there's some hope. I'm getting some response from support at nevercenter. I suggested they contact you since you tried before and they thanked me for the info. So someone is alive over there.
  13. Can it be done with the sdk for EIAS? I notice Lightwave doesn't have one either but there is a relatively cheap plugin from truart for that program.
  14. Maybe Electricimage can take it over? I don't think Nevercenter is interested in developing it.
  15. Silo's on sale for 49 bucks on Stack Social. If anybody's interested in it let me know I'll send you a tweet. You get a 10.00 credit if you tweet to someone who buys it after.
  16. Does version 8 import anything from Lightwave? I'm not getting objects either.Even in old file formats. I tried an old file and I got the following error: Assertion failed on line 54 of file/Development/EIAS 8.0.0/EIAS Project/Animator Resources/FW/From Atlas/FS/Private/FS_Locator.cpp Can't test the files on the demo my machine is too old. Fbx might work. I'll try opening some files in the old EIAS 2.92 which I'm sure will work with 5.6 files.
  17. Here's an idea: A muscle system. I see Cinema and maya and houdini I think have this. It would be a great feature to have. How tough would it be to implement?
  18. Nothing happens in eias 8 when I open them. I get an ambient light and that's it.
  19. I don't seem to be bringing anything in from their sample scene files. Does it have to be saved as an old lightwave scene?
  20. I picked up an old Lightwave 9.6 for very little. What can Electricimage bring in from Lightwave?
  21. It's a total rip off for a freelancer and those on tight incomes or a really small studio which, a lot of the ones I know, don't upgrade every year ,but now they will have to pay this all the time.Forever. And They can't access the files they create if Adobe cuts them off. It's unbelievable that they're trying this strategy. There could be grounds for a class action lawsuit here if after paying for use of the software you subsequently can't access or use the files you created even in a limited way.The license would have to be examined. What does it say and what are you buying? If you're looking for a fulltime job and you're making squat you will have to pay the piper to know what's going on with the new versions.
  22. I found these and the manual: http://www.pdfhost.net/index.php?Action=Download&File=836fdcde61c50a54c90aa621f1248f9b http://www.pdfhost.net/index.php?Action=Download&File=bcce1166a6c5fadd6a208b56a3aa1bf9 http://www.pdfhost.net/index.php?Action=Download&File=7cd5bc6a7742d0b80601215ebb6101ca They had some cool videos on the website but nothing on how the effects were done. Anybody know what the plans are for the particles system in EIAS?
  23. Here's one: http://www.pdfhost.net/index.php?Action=Download&File=e15dbf71dafd4ffc695632c152ab0fa6 And here is another one: http://www.pdfhost.net/index.php?Action=Download&File=e6bac6f6869e82931948da679d713a19
  24. Steve,I'm off topic here, but how did you do the custom arrangements of the windows on your tutorial page? How do you get them to show up under the menu?
