  1. Very nice. Did you try using 'FlockThis' for the motions? I did a few tests for the early versions of that car ad - would prob have worked well with butterfly's Cheers Dave

    car ad.

Just finished this TV ad, all EIAS. Fairly straightforward and simple, just cars driving about really... http://web.me.com/dave.woolard/anim_bits/evanshalshaw.html Used reelmotion for the driving cars and dante as an instancer. Cheers Dave
  3. Will do. ----------------------------- Have done. V simple distortion of a textured tube along a spline. No real sorting to do - it just works as I would expect it to. Quick movie here: http://web.me.com/dave.woolard/eias Project files here: https://files.me.com/dave.woolard/hxk1dg Uses contortionist and cablecraft. Cheers DaveW
  4. Thanks for that technique Tomas. I now remember some (but not all!) of that from a while back. I've also kept a G4 just for V2.9 and reelmotion! Had it running Hyperdeeper too, until I lost the code :( Cheers DaveW
  5. Hi I'm needing a bit of advice from anyone else that still has reelmotion running (Jens?) as I haven't used it for a while and have got stuck on one thing. I'm getting the motion into EIAS fine but need to adjust it a bit and i'm having trouble moving the animation in time. the animation has a number of cars sequentially coming to stop in a line, one every half second. I've got all the individual motions but can't find a reasonable way to move them in the timeline to get the effect I need. Copying and pasting vast numbers of custom frames really doesn't appeal to me! Cheers DaveW Answered my own question... Got the origional EI reelmotion plugin working in EI version 2.9! This has time offset and time scale options. So i'll bring the motions into V2.9 to tweak the timings and from there back into V8. It would still be good to hear any suggestions of how to deal with moving custom frames around though. Cheers DaveW
  6. S'cuse me coming late to this thread. I've successfully used contortionist on textured objects before. Look at the 'emissions viper' clip in the character section of the gallery. This was animated using contortionist and cablecraft. The model was UV'ed and had both textures and shaders. Cheers DaveW

    animated rat

Thanks guys. No real trick to it, just sheer bloody mindedness in tweaking and adjusting over and over again (could still do with more). Very ordinary rig - bones and attached skin. The only unusual thing was doing the tail as a separate object using cablecraft and contortionist to distort it with an animated spline. Same technique I used for my earlier snake (posted this link before on CGTalk, but not here): http://web.me.com/dave.woolard/recent_ads/viper_%28small%29.html To GeordieJames - urgh! DaveW
  8. Did this in V8, for a (low budget!) short film. Added the rat to previously filmed footage of the actors. http://web.me.com/dave.woolard/rat/rat.html Cheers Dave
