maher
I'm looking to replace my old MacBook Pro (mid 2014) for a new laptop like the new 16 inch MacBook Pro. I supposed it will come with Catalina and cannot be downgraded to an older MacOS so I need to know if EIAS 9.1 and all my plug-ins will run fine on that OS or if I have to wait to the new version of EIAS. Thanks, Maher
Frankg
Same here, but I doubt that. By the way anyone who got CUDA running on a MacBook Pro Mid 2010 with NVIDIA GT 330m under High Sierra? regards Frankg
Tomas Egger
Ola my friends! EIAS 9.1 will not run on OS Catalina, since the new OS is full 64 bits :( EIAS v10 is already running on the new OS :) I did a test this week with v10, loading a 3.58GB .obj model! v10 loaded and I tried also Modo, crashed. Frankg
Hmmm… if I buy this 64 GB Ram monster during the black week how long do I have to wait for EIAS 10 to load tons of GB files in? :) Regards Frankg
Tomas Egger
Hey Frank! We still don't have a date of release, we hope to enter in the bug fixing only as soon as possible :) But memory is always good to have :) Thanks Tom
Frankg
Hi Tomas, Since I buy this machine very soon. Could EIAS run in Parallels under An older MacOS as guest system? regards Frankg
Tomas Egger
Ola Frank! Never tested, but I guess Yes, why not? Thanks Tom
Frankg
Hi Tomas, probably the dongle causes problems, but I will try. regards Frankg
Tomas Egger
Ola Frank! OS Catalina for example need a new dongle driver (64 bits version). Thanks Tom
maher
Ola Tomas, Can we use a Catalina Mac as a rendering slave node with Renderama, Camera 9.1 and plug-ins already 64 bits and spool jobs done in EIAS 9.1 from an older Mac? Tomas Egger
Ola Maher! Nope, because the "main" EIAS 9.1 Camera still 32 bits and have a external 64 bits module. EIAS v10 its only one app now, full 64. Thanks Tom
