Replacing an object by another

How animate/toggle the visibility of an object so it can be replace suddenly in an animation by another completely different?

The only way I can do that is to start 2 successives animations by toggling on/off my objects and stitching together the rendering. But there is an Animate Visibility box in the object properties but I can't find a way to automate the appearance/disappearance of an object in the time line...

You can do it with XP: set the visibility to 0 at a specific frame.

Or you can keyframe it -> change the project window to frame mode

and klick in that green triangle. You can see there in the cells the

visibility is ON or OFF. At your specific frame add a keyframe and

change the cell to OFF. Don't forget to fill up the following cells

with OFF :-)
