supernovavfx
I have a client who is providing me with a relatively standard looking round diamond that needs a wireframe visual effects treatment. it was a dxf file that seems to import fine into v9.... but I dont do much of this so I cant see what to do to get what I need. for example, you can check "cull back faces" and THAT comes very close to the look i need... BUT I cant see how to animate that... the wireframe renders the ENTIRE wireframe.... are there plug ins or settings anyone can turn me on to. OR does the model itself need to be prepped differently... not a dxf but maybe an obj? This is a job going on THIS WEEK so any tips would be appreciated... I am reading all I can and trying lots of things... just have not gotten there yet.... ill be compositing this and overlaying graphics in AE... thanks.... and im still loving the new EI! I cant wait to but my logo right in the line of the BULLET physics engine... :) Scott
Aziz
Hi Scott, I have a pdf of an old EIAS Hidden Wireframe technique by Lee Croft. Not sure if it will help but the pdf can be found at: http://www.avendavasse.com/eiaswireframe/Hidden_Wireframes.pdf

meester smeeth
Another way that 'should' be easier is to use the polygon outline/edge thickness etc in the objects Geometry tab. Only problem is that the line quality gives a jagged effect, even with higher sampling settings.
supernovavfx
ironically im simulating a machine that does not appear to antialias the output on its display screen so that will help as well.
