edecker
Has anyone used EI to render out game sprites in an isometric view? I was setting up to do these in Blender but am thinking I will have much better control in EI since I use it much more and already have workflows in place. In particular I am looking for some tips or settings for getting a true flat view without the focal perspective. Eric
Franky
Hi Eric, very narrow view angle (like 1 deg or less) and far, far away camera position are the answer. Cheers Francois
Jens C. Möller
...or, you link the whole setup to an effector and rotate it until you have the right perspective in the world view windows, an than render from there for true isometric. edecker
I will be using an effector to attach the items to so I can rotate 360 degrees. I guess my question is more around getting the true 3/4 view with no perspective. Like in formZ I could view a model at top 3/4 with no perspective. I have been adjusting the focal length of the camera to lose any perspective but what is the value to represent no distortion? I cannot find that value in the manuel. Thanks guys. edecker
Hi Jens, That will work nicely. I did not understand your comment at first. Thanks! Eric Jez, too busy talking and not listening. This is perfect. Thanks again. Eric
Jens C. Möller
of course you need to rotate your global maps and reflection maps acordingly, if you use any.
