  1. I use Maya, PointOven and then EIAS. Awesome work you posted. Couple of years ago, I crashed Maya and lost a bunch of plugs and scripts. I'm getting back into MarvyD again. I love that app. I modeled in Zbrush, and use MotionBuilder on the Mac. But I didn't clean up the Mocap. I will do now that everything is running again. Almost forgot how to use MDD in EIAS? ;-)
  2. Hey Folx. This DVD sale is still going. Both DVDs for $100. The New Year is a great time to learn new skills, strengthen or take your skills to a whole new level. Winter months are a great time for study. Out with the old and in with the NEW!
  3. I'm curious to know if this will work with PolyPainting in Zbrush.
  4. The free version has an impressive feature list. FormZ leaving out rounding is a big limitation. I am interested Fusion on Mac OSX. AfterEffects seems to go a long was for compositing on the Mac. What node-base compositors are EIAS users using on Mac OSX? Shake? Toxik? Nuke? Thanks.
  5. Thank you for the new sales. I should mentioned that when you purchase the DVDs you also get email support. So if you have a project or just have general questions, you can send it to me or ask question. You get my full support with the purchase of the DVDs.
  6. Here is the first example of the ReadyRigs "Deformer Rig". It's very fast once you learn the tricks and tips.
  7. The Deformer DVD came out of a project I did for Verizon and David Wu. So this was a practical production rig. It's called the Deformer because it doesn't use bones for a spine. It uses EIAS deformers. So it can be done very fast without much rigging. I always use the Deformer Rig for another of my client with Mini Lego Block People.
  8. Please take notice of the color coding in the project window and how organized all the bones, names, and hierarchies are easy to read at a glance.
  9. Hi All, I'm doing a new promo, 2 DVDs for $100. They are usually $85 each. PayPal: athreet@adelphia.net Here's are a couple of free samples from the "SkinMan" DVD which is the 2 DVD. The "SkinMan" covers skinning and an immediate knowledge of how to use EIAS is all that's needed. The Deformer Rig DVD is more fundamental and goes slowly over all the details.
  10. I'm doing a end of the year TWO FOR ONE sale of AVTPro's ReadyRigs "Deformer Rig" and "SkinMan" DVD. paypal: athreet@adelphia.net Here's a sample. SkinMan. http://youtu.be/THXXpmtDo-U?list=UUOq2LLesN0EFMHzvT7Ud-LA
  11. Thanks. It looks very interesting.
  12. I'm also interested on how this camera is adapted to an UAV as a lighter rig than the 4K GH4 and DJI S1000. I have a phantom and would prefer to upgrade in smaller steps considering the FAA drama.
  13. Hi Scott. I haven't gotten into EIAS Dynamics so this sounds very impressive. I generally use Maya so I was hoping some insight can be transpose across to EIAS. For shattering a breaking stuff I use DMM which comes with a "no break" area. Is there a way that you can set up a "no break" object and scale it back at the time collision object hits? Or is there away to split the animation in to part, the first with not breaking objects and the second where the initiation state of the simulation is just before impact? Lastly, maybe some roughness setting that can be stiff during the first part of the sim, and make the material more breakable at the point of impact?
  14. Thanks Tomas for the tutorial you showed me on EIAS tracking. I thought it was going to take a long time but it's very fast import from SynthEyes in EIAS.
  15. Just a quick mention about this project. I'm going to be hosted on a podcast interview tomorrow at 9pm. Feel free to join BlackScience FictionSociety Talk Show Radio and the Artist Story of AVT Pro from Buffalo ;-) http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/127374
  16. I did a project for Hal Meyer where I use a Turbo Squid model. I use Maya so that format was available. FBX would be a good format since EIAS opens it well. However, I found Turbo Squid models integrity can be slightly questionable so go for the better quality models if they have it. The FBX animation needed a lot of reworking as well. It's a good jump start if you need to turn around a sample right a way, but it takes a bit of work to skin smoothly if the models are built well. In some cases the models are good for a base to retopolize. Just my experience.
  17. 4K has been a part of film for a long time, so it's not whether it's valid or not. The question is when will the rest of the world catch up. I have a 4K RED Camera for about 2 years. 4K has some very practical applications in production especially with greenscreen. Simply more pixels are better for greenscreen mattes. if you had to pull a key from hair at 1080p it's not going to be as clean or forgiving as if you did it from a higher 4k res. Also, there's other reason to use 4k on the front end like image capture and lens quality. The quality of the lens is immediately apparent when you go from an EF standard lens to a Zeiss CP.2 even with a 1080p like a Canon. So a Cine Lens on a PL Mount 4K camera is going to be evident in the image quality hi res film back image. I'm not debating camera just stating the facts behind why studios use 4K, 6K and 8K. Same ole rule, you can't get more out of what you put in "Garbage in, Garbage Out". So I don't recommend up res'n but it depends on your audience. Some can't tell the difference but if you are talking to an industry film pro. You don't want to give them up-Res'd 4096 px and think it's the same image quality of a true clean cine image capture system. I mean, true cine people still don't like digital 4k as oppose to true photo chemical film telecine 4k. Some will only accept digital if it's RAW format with a talented colorist/grader. As far as the public consumption of 4k, i share everyone else's concern. "Delivery and cost". Monitors have to come down in price. RED has a 4k player, I have a RED Rocket so I can drive real time 4K, but no display other than Apple 30". I would love to have a 4K monitor but it would be mainly for my personal project and content. Concerning 3D... I think EIAS is the only way to do 4k ;-) I couldn't even render it in Maya.
  18. I just made a request for normal in the view ports. EIAS does render normals maps but it does not display them other than the texture alignment windows. If they do implement normals I hope it's on both Mac and Windows, OpenGL and DirectX 11 respectively. Here's the link to the request. http://www.eias3d.com/forums/topic/5981-normal-maps-in-view-display-ports/#entry14320
  19. EIAS already uses normal in the render, but it would be very helpful to have them in the display ports since they interactively react to lights. The model would look like a high resolution render when it's just a low res poly model. Great for animators and preview for clients.
  20. Great Article! And thanks for the mention, but I can't possibly begin to mentioned to you all how great of an honor and privilege it has been to work with such a high caliber artist and person as David. I have sent David the BMW work but he has sent me many projects first. I probably wouldn't be a modeler if wasn't for David. Also, Kudos to Eric Decker (EIAS, http://www.digitaldollhouse.com) as well who sent me both projects, BMW and Puma Robot Rig (the one I was busy with). My first Zbrush work, Awards, and MacPro!! David sent to me. (IDEA 2007 business week Award was rendered all in EIAS) Moreover, he has been a great friend every since I started my business when I use to live in NYC. Thanks David...Much Kudos to you. God Bless. AVT
