  1. Hi Steven, If you select the bones in the project window and the strength map in the dialog, the "Attach bones" button should become active. Then you should be attach the selected bones to your specific strengh map by clicking the button. Afterwards you can test to see which bones are selected to the Strength map by selecting the strength map and using the "Select Bones" button to highlight the bones that are attached to it. I fully go over skinning and strength map in my ReadyRigs "SkinMan" DVD. It's available download at a discount for only $45.
  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ds_kaEUTnng Sorry for the double post. Please delete. I'm having trouble posting YT video with so that the video preview displays in the threat and not just the URL. Any advice? Thanks.

  4. Ah! Thank you Meester! That really make me feel good to know. That was the goal.
  5. Daniel Lee also worked with many other artist to produce a 6ft ceramic from the Zbrush sculpt I created from his vision and art direction.
  6. Thanks Tomas. We couldn't render this in Maya because the video wall render were too large. So exporting the Maya animation rig to EIAS via FBX was a huge success. Here's the rig I did in Maya. All the animation features from this rig was exported via FBX into EIAS. The animation was duplicated, scaled, and edited again by David at the request of Daniel Lee's tempo tweaks. So it was very flexible working with EIAS/Maya. Morphs for the eye blinks and gills breathing was also manipulated in EIAS. I am a freelancer in Buffalo NY. So I am always appreciative when I receive business from David Wu. He is an extraordinaire render maven. The files were huge and he gets them done with all my animation, modeling and rigging effects.
  7. Here's a YouTube video link for the exhibit. It shows the sculpt and animation I did for Daniel Lee's "NEXT" exhibit at the Taiwan National Museum of Fine Art. This is a honor and privilege because I always wanted to have art in a gallery but never thought it would part of a National Museum. Thank you Daniel for your leadership and vision within Fine Artist and Humanity. This was model in Zbrush, dynamically simulated FK/IK Rig in Maya and exported via FBX to EIAS3D (by me) for rendering at over 5,000 pixel resolution by David Wu. I am an available freelancer. htt
  8. Here's a rig that uses and IK spine that I mainly built without curves in EIAS. I never brought it to market because I had already done the SkinMan Rig. Also there weren't preorders but just letting you know it exists.
  9. I am available for hire if needed. I can either res up the model, sculpt it, rig or animate it. If there's anything that I can do to assist in the success of your project. Just let me know. AVTPro5@mac.com Thanks Alonzo By The Way, I have Rig DVDs for sale if you are interested in learning more about that process. A good rig is very helpful for a good animation. ;-) Just paypay me and I'll send the link. Thanks. AVT
  10. Hi fellow EIAS Users. ;-) I would like to present thread I created on the ZBrushCentral Community Forum of a 3D modeling, rigging and character animation for Daniel Lee which heavily relied on ElectricImage for rendering, rigging and animation. They seem to have a contest so feel free to vote for my team work with David Wu who did the rendering and project supervisor. ;-) I will post images directly on this thread shortly. These are only my personal WIP images. http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?199225-Museum-Merman&p=1171953&infinite=1#post1171953
  11. Yes, don't paste the image. Paste a link to the image file, or use the "Choose file". Thanks. Yes, I use ZBrush because it's more like using a paint brush and that's what I'm use to. It use to take me a long time the older way of pulling points and polys. I'm free from polys now, per se. ;-)
  12. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "three effectors". I only have two in the sample project and image. Maybe you added another for the toe, which you mentioned earlier? Anyhow, glad it worked out fine for you. And yes, you can't exactly translate human musco-skeletal, biomechanics kinesiology too literally into CGI rigging. ;-) My DVDs are full of finger biting, hair saving, mind numbing tips. ;-) Rigging can be tricky to learn on your own. Stay tuned for a really sophisticated rigging animation David Wu and I did for Daniel Lee's Exhibit in Taiwan. BTW, I started this robot today i Zbrush. I'm trying to do robots in a day. This took about 8 hours...I think it could be quicker. Happy Rigging in EIAS. Enjoy!
  13. Should be exactly like this. I think where you are going off is on 3. Add IK to end joint. I think you are adding it "between". Just select the "joint end" and add IK. It will add the IK to "two bones", not one. Don't select any bones. I actually did it earlier before I wrote it. Sorry I didn't back sooner. You shouldn't have to invert anything. That would be backwards and not how a rig is generally handled. I attached a project. Depending on how stable or immobile you want the foot to be while moving the pelvis, just switch the parenting from "Joint end/ankle" to foot effector/ctrl. I do all kind of rigs, all kinds of ways, but a reverse foot rig isn't necessary stabilizing the foot. EIAS rigging very sufficient for most jobs. It just depends on how you like animating. Here I parented the foot bone 1 to the Joint End so the foot can move with the pelvis. That means the foot will move slightly when the knee bends. That's normal. However if I didn't want the foot to move at all when the knee bends, I would parent it to the foot effector. I go over a lot of this in the DVDs. Check them out if you get a chance. Thanks. 14. Hi Buzz, I have two tutorial DVDs that show how to rig characters with simple IK legs and feet as you are requesting. The DVD's sell one for $85 and both for $125. They are immediately downloadable and will serve for a great reference if you ever have a long stint without rigging. Also, I am a freelance and fix the problem or rig in a hour or so if you need. I use paypal for the DVDs or services. I am glad to help and I can make a quick sample file if need be. To answer your question. There shouldn't be a problem especially if you don't need reverse foot but I can rig that too. 1. Make effector box for pelvis 2. Make two bone chain for upper and lower legs. Joint end is ankle. stop. 3. Select joint end. Add IK. 4. Make effector box for foot. 5. Parent Upper leg bone to Pelvis and IK to foot controller. Done. It's best to make to make a separate bone chain for the foot with an IK and parent it in to the foot null or Ankle joint end. Sometimes I forget when I haven't rigged in a while too so I have to look at my DVDs. ;-)
  15. Hey Folx if I do a Mobu tutorial DVD geared toward EIAS it would be with a newer versions and on Windows BootCamp. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=51&v=7fGcDA4Q51Q
  16. Thanks for the response. Yes, I'm looking for the Free Model. I was trying to avoid modeling ;-) They mention it here but I don't see it. I was thinking a NFL football player would be common. https://youtu.be/yyE0vCj5T2o
  17. I saw a TrueBone Motionbuilder tutorial on YouTube that said there's a free model of a FootBall player at Mixamo. However, I can't find one rigged football player anywhere. Anyone know where I can find one? Thanks.
  18. Crowd Sim done in Maya imported into EIAS via FBX. This is the first WIP so I didn't clean up the runcyle yet. Robot Race https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy8vlxb0H_Y
  19. Thanks for your interest Thomo. My offer is to produce a tutorial DVD about Mocap editing options and procedures as it relates to workflow towards EIAS. The teaching style will be same as with the other two EIAS DVD tutorial I published on rigging. There's been lots of sample, freebies and Youtube about them if you are not familiar with my products here's a link: DeformerRig https://youtu.be/CdPPVFH8f2s https://youtu.be/SM-vrM2U9q0 FKSpine https://youtu.be/01r6et2bQSc Skin Man Rig These DVDs are only about EIAS. My concern with producing any other DVD that included a 3rd party software is who is using it. I don't know if there are many EIAS using MotionBuilder or want to use MotionBuilder. If so, I have a lot of workflow tips if they have found it to be unintuitive. Mocap have been a part of EIAS since 1998. MotionBuilder has been around for about the same but maybe there's not many EIAS users Mobu. Tomas and I use to Credo Interactive LifeForms for motion capture back then (http://www.charactermotion.com/community/animators.html). So I have a good bit of experience. Mocap is so common now that it's hard to tell what EIAS users interested in. Maybe I should include Mixamo since it's now free? I use a lot of different software and EIAS 1.5 so the question how can I help others with what has helped me? If there's not enough interest, then another 3rd party software training I can offer as it relates to EIAS is Zbrush. I worked for many years assisting the development with EIAS. So if not Mobu I can wait and see what I can come up with for those EIAS users who want to use ZBrush with EIAS. Here's a sample I've done last night. it's quick, no real skinning or edits at all. It's only a low poly with FBX model from Zbrush. So the questionaire is what software that I use and can teach are user interested in? Maybe Users would rather see Marvelous Designer clothe simulations? I have taught in colleges in NYC, done corporate training and run my own production studio. The DVDs are way to encapsulate the experience and knowledge I have acquired and archive incase someone needs to know it for their projects or quickening of their studies or pursuits....with less headaches or hair loss ;-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQNpgM7Lb3I
  20. Hey EIAS User! I'm hoping to get your input on a possibly MotionBuilder to EIAS ReadyRig tutorial DVD set. I'm thinking there would be two DVDs a beginner into Mocap Data to EIAS and a more advance MotionBuilder animation blending tutorial. What do you think? It would be the same cost of my ReadyRigs Deformer and SkinMan DVD $85 each. The thing is I use MotionBuilder 7.5 on mac and sometimes Mobu 2011 before it went to the dark grey interface. However, it's the same basic features. I want to teach it because I realize MotionBuilder is difficult to understand and even after I am not using it for a while it's still difficult to remember. So as with all my ReadyRigs DVD, I will show all the hidden secrets to make it work predictably. Also I will show different ways to edit the Mocap Data in EIAS. My demonstrating will focus around making the workflow intuitive, simple and quick from different character in one step to editing simple Mocap keys in EIAS for render. Even if you only need to set up a walkcycle for architecture this would be good for you. As always, I accept preorder very Paypal: athreet@adelphia.net. I'll get started if I have a few interested pre-orders. 21. BTW, this was a walk cycle tutorial I did which proceeded the global walk distance tutorial. >>> Download (3,7 mb)
  22. Hi Thomo, Mocap editing is usually best done in a mocap program like MotionBuilder. However, EIAS is very capable of making walk cycles as long as you want it to go. I just happened across an old site that has some tutorials I did on the subject several years ago. Basically once you have the timing of the forward moving keyframes you can copy and paste the distance very quickly on the global body control or COG. The tutorial is under "ReadyRigs instrustions". It was my first CD with a repeating walk. http://electro303.paralumino.com/electro303/02-tech/Tutorial_bank/tips031-040/tips037/tips037-US.html >>>Download (2,1 mb) here's a sample image. Just keep the feet on the ground with a marker at the heel. . It shouldn't be too difficult if the walk is basically uniform. You may be able to use PathFinder or some other motion path editor, but I don't think it works without sliding. In a Mocap app like Mobu, the app magically knows how to loop walkscycles that are "in Place" loops. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f190/AVTPro/Screen Shot 2015-09-30 at 10.05.41 PM_zpsgu0p78fd.png
