Hi Tomas, is V10 coming or ... ?

Thanks Tomas, I missed the good old days of Modeller and EIAS. Hope by the arrival of V10. Modeller will be available and integrate with EIAS3D seamlessly. Keeeping my finger cross : )

Hi all EIAS Guru and users, Happy New Year 2021!
I wish to bring in a C4D job for render EIAS. What will be the best workflow from Cinema 4D to EIAS with all the list intact?
Also is Kishore 3D Modelling software frontend for EIAS ready?
Thank you for any suggestion!
Best Regards,

Any fix?
Thank for any advice,

Hi Tomas,
I am counting down to year 2020 now hopefully will see V10 before Xmas. This is the 'finer' reminder to you or I will dump my two seats of EIAS V9 into the Caribbean sea!!
(Though I will pick them up later and continue the waiting game. : ) : ). )
Cheers ,
Burney
-
Thomas,
waiting is killing me :i. Give me a chance to pay and I want V10 now .... : D

Hi Thomas,
I have both V8 and V9.1 but been waiting for V10 so just got a little bore waiting and want to get back to do a little warm up while waiting. Is V9.1 works in 10.7? The machine is only 32 bits architecture. Have not try anly hack to bring it up to 10.11. I am on iMac 2011 spending most time doing architectural works now.
Warm Regards,
Burney

I have a basic question. I still have an Old MacPro 1.1 running MacOS 10.7. Which version of EIAS will run in the optimal state?
Thank You for any advice.

Tom,
May I suggest give us a workable version of the new build and let us pay for it then continue give us free update as you wish to quench our curiosity : )

Finally I am able to import my sketchUp Pro 2015 files into EIAS v9.1 via FormZ 8 Sketch Up import plug in. Every everything is intact.
May be EIAS can contact Trimble to incorporate SKP import into EIAS and that will brighten my days and say bye2 to Vray :shy:

Thank Grey  . Currently I am using FormZ 8 to import Sketchup Model and assemble them in Form Z for EIAS compatibility. FormZ 8 is been used more like a complex scene layout software for me now. Form Z is a great and powerful software but not fast enough for rapid conceptual design( as least for me as I am more familiar with Sketch up now after depart formZ at V6 ...)
-
Ola Burney!
Please, don't forget to export the simple scene for me from Sketch Up.
Greg, Could you help with this?
Thanks
Tom
Hi Tom,
Got tight up a couple of weeks by a rush job. Instead of giving you a drawing with some simple primitives. I want to produce a simple but realistic architectural model so that you can come up with proper workflow solution. Currently using FormZ 8 to solve my current issue for now as 64 bits really help to speed up assembly of complex scenes. Just give me another week to sort thing out. Thank you for your patience
-
Thank you for your advice. Too bad Okino doesn't have a Mac version. I did manage to import the sketch up file via Modo beside Form Z. Ultimately if EIAS can import it will make life a lot easier as going to and fro via a bridge software is quite cumbersome.
-
To create a group in SketchUp. Double click any face with pick tool and hit cmd-G in Mac OSX. I usually move them to a relevant layer immediately after grouping. For conceptual design I usually create a basic box, group it and create it as component. It really help in speeding up the design process. SketchUp can swapped out basic shapes with complex detailed models easily so more design thinking and less modelling. In the Pre Form Z v7 days, I need to spend lot of time modelling and trying an error with rounding that make Form Z appears really dumb although Form Z v7 now looks very promising.
SketchUp does has its flaws and limitation but for design exploration it is a very speedy tool. Layer colour mode is superb as we can specify a colour for each layer including solid and transparency colour good for Color scheme and visualizing Glass materials, and export via 3ds does embed those layer colour attributes into the materials.
After upgrade to EIAS 9.1, I have been spending whole day and night trying to get SketchUp models into EIAS but really it is very frustrated. Trying out all the export and import options but none can really meet the basic criteria, that is clean models and at the proper layers hierarchy( we have been pampered by the older EIAS - Form Z fac workflow  ).
DXF bring in the layer hierarchy but all the model became garbage, OBJ bring in the model but lost the layers and layer colours. 3ds bring in about 95 % of the model but surprisingly the model came in with layer colours including transparencies but no layer, Fbx 2006 brought in layers colours but no layer and the model is similar to 3ds.
So my solution now is to save the SketchUp files back to SketchUp version 8 and open with Form Z 7 and export as fac in order to bring it to EIAS.
SketchUp Pro cannot handle large files similar to form Z, I take the V-Ray path after EIAS v8 weak import option but when come to animation, within EIAS I always feel at home. I really hope that the next EIAS upgrade will include direct SketchUp file import :P

Hi all the EIAS Guru,
I just upgraded to EIAS V9.1 after five year departure so now is a V9.1 newbie. Will need some help from friend here to jump back in. Currently my main tasks are architectural Design and visualisation using sketch up Pro 2014 and Vray. Need to do some simple animation so EIAS still my preferred choice.
By the way, what is the best workflow from skectchUp to EIAS, I export as dxf file and get lot of garbage but all the layer is intact, export via obj look fine but lost all the layer info. Any better suggestion?
Best Regards

Ola Burney!
Unlock code sent! sorry, but I can't generate a “expiration†register for a plug-in :(
Enjoy EIAS 9.1!!!
Thanks a lot
Tom
Thank you Tomas, I think this is going to be the beginning of the trouble. Having lost touch with EIAS for almost five years, It is time to start learning again especially the lightings and dynamic stuff

Hi Tom,
Just purchase V9.1 with my V8 Dongle no : ZZ02207 but I my proxy plug in is register under my V7 Dongle ZZ14707. Anyway to make it work with V9 for now?

Hi Burney,
The improvements with the openGL engine were enough for me to truly see the value in upgrading. I can't say I knew this before I upgraded but when I did I noticed there was no 'software engine' option for the camera view window. I freaked out, but I am so amazed how robust openGL is now. Even in a scene with 9 million polygons, moving the camera isn't too different then a scene with 1 million polygons. And the camera view window is so much more predictable! I just wish transparency would work properly.
Michael
Agreed. Thank! Michael :D

Hey Burney,
when you are on V7/V8 then you will love 9.1! Its really a big bump!
So i wouldn't wait....
Alex
I have not use EIAS for quite a while as most of the time is doing CAD drawing. I am looking forward to upgrade to a EIAS with modern UI , mouse scroll wheel support for scrolling, zooming and orbiting like sketchup  . Downloaded V9 demo and a little disappointed although I am aware of there are ton of core improvements. May be I should upgrade a pack just to keep it going :D.

Hi Tom,
It is a dumb question but will it be within the next two months?

Hi Tom,
Shall I hold on to wait for the next upgrade or you will offer a free grade if I buy the current upgrade now, I am on V7 & V8 now :D

Ola!
Happy new year my friends, we were testing new build here until the last minute ;)
Thanks
