Mixamo + EIAS

Its easy, because the bones do not perfect match with the geometry.

I built the young man in DAZ an get the gagnam style motion

from Mixamo for free. To match these two `models` you have to

exact line up the geometry to the bones, but my goal was to play

- not exact to match, so....

I did it an other way:

Building the young man in DAZ, downloaded the free motion file "Gagnam Style",

reset the bones from Gagnam Style as in the tutorial described and tried to

match the young man with that set of bones. Imported the Gagnam Style motion

again and voila  :shy:

To be exact, you have to perfect match the geometry of that two files, no big

thing, but in 15 minutes..... not to mention: it was my first try with this kind of

animation. I am happy with it and can tell everyone try it for yourself. Its not only

fun (it is of course!), you can learn a lot with it.

Hi Tomas and fantomaz;

Do you have any simple workflow suggestions for MIXAMO > eias? EG, do I build / rig completely in mixamo (inc upload my own model if I can't find one to suit on  mixamo) and export as FBX or is it better to export bvh? I am not so experienced in mocap/character workflow. A simple 1-2-3 would be much appreciated and I am sure would be useful for other too!

Many  thanks!

OK just found this vid tuturial Mixamo>EIAS: a bit old but hopefully still relevant - thanks Bruce!

(It won't allow me to paste the url so just replace the (dot) with a dot.)

Thanks Tomas looking forward to it!

- Updated FBX support would be good

- The import seems a bit quirky when you have multiple figures (eg if you copy a base rig and model, retarget the skin to the copied model, then import a bvh to it, sometimes the motion still gets applied to the original rig).

All the best

Rory
