	Hi! Long time no posts <span> </span> <span class="ipsEmoji">🙂</span>.
</p>

<p>
	I was trying to install my old EIAS 9.1 (and even the old EIModeler 5.0.2! ) on Windows 11, to toy with some old projects of mine, but it is rejecting the old USB dongle's driver installer.
</p>

<p>
	<strong>Is there a recommended dongle driver that is known to work with Windows 11</strong>, even if one has to set security exceptions or admin privileges? (I remember EIAS and EIM needing admin permissions)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	EDIT: wondering about using VirtualBox's USB passthrough and some old Windows 7 or even XP <span class="ipsEmoji">🙃</span>, disconnected from the Internet.

	We can't install on the new Mac OS so we are trying to install on Win 10 with bootcamp.  I downloaded the win version of 9.1, the 4 drivers and the drivers for the dongle but when I open EIAS and put in the unlock code it just quits.  Not sure what step I could have missed.  Thanks.

	I have a tree with leaves using UV maps.
</p>

<p>
	The tree is seen mostly in reflection on a glass curtain wall and inox steel parts.
</p>

<p>
	I use clipping maps end/or transparency maps with alpha channel to cut the leaves out of their supporting square polygons.
</p>

<p>
	If you can't see the supporting polygons on direct view - one can see theses square polygons in the reflected parts of the images...
</p>

<p>
	Any idea how to avoid having squares instead of leaves in the reflected parts of the image ?

	Hello ,
</p>

<p>
	I have sorted the problem - using the collect files option seems to resolve the issue .
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I am only starting back with 3d and EAIS - I am using Silo and making uv maps in PS , when I bring them in all seems fine , but when updating or altering or even from a fresh load , some are the right way up in object display mode but downside up , or upside down when I render - really slowing progress and I don't know if its me or the application.
</p>

<p>
	All help would be greatly appreciated.

<p>
	Hi !
</p>

<p>
	Last time I used Renderama this year it worked fine.
</p>

<p>
	I use mostly 27" iMac (all updates forbidden - so no updating since last time) with OSX from 10.11 to 10.14
</p>

<p>
	Now it won't start on 3 Macs out of 5...
</p>

<p>
	It bounces in the dock and then ... nothing (no window, no app launched)
</p>

<p>
	The only thing I've done since is installing Archicad 22 on this 3 Macs.
</p>

<p>
	On the 2 other Macs Renderama tells me : "file not found" when starting to download file to render - but they haven't got Archicad 22 installed...
</p>

<p>
	The master is an old MacPro2012-2013 running OSX 10.10
</p>

<p>
	Any Idea ?
</p>

<p>
	... I guess it's time for EIAS v10 update (getting long !)
</p>

<p>
	was wondering if anyone else had the same issue. Works fine on my other machine so
</p>

<p>
	I am able to get my work done there. But was just curious if there was something with 10.13.6 ?
</p>

<p>
	The app itself comes up, its just not accepting any jobs from Animator. However
</p>

<p>
	the camera works fine Locally without network rendering

<p>
	Thanks so much

<p>Hi,</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I have bought a number of models from different internet vendors, in .obj, .3ds and .fbx formats. At least 3 out of every 10 models fail to import!</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I also have the modelling program Rhino (Mac work-in-progress) which opens the failed imports no problems at all. I save them out of Rhino but they still fail to import into EI!</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I am wasting my money on models that I have to trash in the bin, which is extremely frustrating.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Could there be a bug with EI's new model import function? Is there a work around? Is there a modelling program that can bridge the gap? Transporter doesn't work any more does it!?</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I need help with this because I have a deadline on a project and can't put my hope in virtually any 3D model I see!</p>

<p>
	"EIAS3D OS X Dongle Installer.mpkg" will fail to install and tell me that it is not compatible with my os version.<br />
	I click the continue anyway and it will fail to install.<br />
	Then Animator does not start and I don't remember the message.
</p>

<p>
	<u><strong>Partial solution : (Animator works fine but without Camera)</strong></u>
</p>

<p>
	I use the right click on the "EIAS3D OS X Dongle Installer.mpkg" and Show Package Content.<br />
	I navigate inside the folders and install both "superpro32.pkg" and "sentinel.pkg" one after the other.
</p>

<p>
	Then when trying to start Animator i get the error : Cannot allocate needed 3D Icon...
</p>

<p>
	So the final step is to use the "Show Package Content" on Animator and navigate to<br />
	Animator/Contents/MacOS/ and open the "Animator" from there.<br />
	Animator is now working but rendering does not.
</p>

<p>
	When I try to render, Camera will try to start but macOS tells me it is from an unidentified dev.
</p>

<p>
	So I go in Settings/Security&amp;Privacy/General there is a message :<br />
	Camera was blocked from opening... I clicked [Open Anyway]<br />
	Now Camera is opening but there is no window.<br />
	Strange since I can open camera now from Finder and it will show a window.
</p>

<p>
	I tried to start everything from the command line with the sudo command sudo ./Animator without success.
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	Anyway did everything I could... as a future potential buyer/user.

<p>
	I've been working with EIAS on my Mac today normally, and suddenly Animator is failing to launch, showing this message:
</p>

<p>
	<strong>Assertion failed on line 24 of file Dbg_InitCounter.cpp: Failed to call Dbg_InitCounter::ShouldCleanUp() enough times to balance Dbg_InitCounter::ShouldInit()</strong>
</p>

<p>
	then it crashes and produces a standard macOS app crash error dialog.
</p>

<p>
	As I had shoved the USB key a little while repositioning a side screen, I tried putting it in another USB socket, to no avail (unplugging it produces the usual alert in such cases, so it doesn't seem to be that). Then I tried installing a fresh copy. Upon entering my activation code, Animator shows one of its own alert messages saying:
</p>

<p>
	<strong>Cannot allocate needed 3D icon "IconBody_Camera" from EIResource folder</strong>
</p>

<p>
	Those folder and file are there, fresh from the disk image file. This message doesn't appear when I launch the non-fresh Animator (or possibly it goes out too fast to be seen).
</p>

<p>
	I've restarted the Mac, without results. Before I try more drastic steps, is this something that sounds familiar to anyone and suggests how to solve it?
</p>

<p>
	I'm on an old hexacore Mac Pro, running macOS Sierra 10.12.6

<p>
	To my surprise, I found out that mac OS' Quicklook feature (the one that lets the Finder preview a file's content by tapping the spacebar when it is highlighted) works for a few 3D formats such as .obj. Finder's Column view's previews work, too. You can use a few mouse and keyboard combos to move and rotate the camera. Windows 10 has some 3D preview abilities too.
</p>

<p>
	Is there anything like that for .FAC files, any Quick Look generator plugin for FACTs?

<p>
	Hi,
</p>

<p>
	I'm having issues after upgrading to High Sierra. I downloaded a fresh copy of EIAS9.1. Moved it to the Desktop, plugged in the dongle, launched both Animator and Camera. Animater triggered the serial number insertion which I did and was accepted. Camera alone starts without complaining. I can open any project and work in animator but if I try to render, when camera opens (with a task this time as opposed to not having to do anything), I get a MacOS modal dialog with:
</p>

<p>
	“Camera_64” can’t be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.
</p>

<p>
	And then an EI Modal Dialog with:
</p>

<p>
	An OS exception occurred inside Camera.
</p>

<p>
	I'm not sure this issue is related to high sierra specifically. It could just be a permission issue that I missed. Can anyone help me with this?

	Hi,

<p>
	Is it possible to animate a texture over all surfaces of an object?
</p>

<p>
	I animated a texture over a cube - but could get it to "move" over one of the surfaces....

	Hi,
</p>

<p>
	I'm running a Mac Pro with 12 gigs of memory.
</p>

<p>
	Camera is crashing -- lack of memory seems to be the problem?
</p>

<p>
	If more memory is added will camera use it?
</p>

<p>
	Thanks for any insight/help.

<p>
	Best

<p>
	I am running EIAS3D 9.1 demo on mac with a 27" apple thunderbolt display 2560x1440 (not even 4k).
</p>

<p>
	The problem is that all the buttons and the text are really small, almost to the point of being unclickable and unreadable.
</p>

<p>
	Is there a way to rescale/resize the ui elements to a more comfortable level other than lowering the resolution or increasing the zoom/scaling on windows?
</p>

<p>
	My concern is for the future, when my monitor stop working I will go for a 4k screen and I won't be able to use EIAS3D anymore.
</p>

<p>
	This problem is so serious that Lightwave is loosing a lot of users because they failed to even recognized the problem.
</p>

<p>
	For now I can deal with it, but as I get older and the screen dpi increase I won't.

<p>
	Hi there all;
</p>

<p>
	Anyone have a fix for the issue seen here - the caustics is flickering a lot. There's only a single light with a photon density of 1. Yes I know that's low - but it renders fast and gives a nice blur on stills. but the issue is clear when animated. I have a big scene with lots of objects (dynamics) so don't want to crank up the density too high as it takes a lot longer to render. Also it just gives a fine flickery grain rather than a blobby one- the flickering is still there. Anyone with experience in this effect please let me know if there's some good settings that you've found.
</p>

<p>
	Also any advice on blurry global reflection maps? I'm using a blurry hdri but can't seem to get it to render without artifacts...
</p>

<p>
	Many thanks
</p>

<p>
	Rory

	Where can I download the installer for the old modeler for windows?
</p>

<p>
	I can't seem to find it. I'm trying to see how well the modeler works in windows 7 or 10.
</p>

<p>
	It works fine in XP in Parallels on a mac, but that was an old install I did.
